My Summary:
Anna Whitt has always avoided the bad choices of the teens around her. She knows the emotions of others, she can see them and she feels the draw towards evil. BUT it's very important to avoid those choices, especially considering her dad is a demon. Then she meets Kaidan Rowe and all her willpower goes out the window. Shocked to learn the truth about her heritage and drawn to Kaidan with a force she can't and doesn't want to resist, Anna must decide if she's more demon or more angel.
My Thoughts:
4 stars - Need more NOW
Love this fresh twist on angels and demons. Wendy does a fabulous job of bringing something new to this world. The children of demons, Nephilim, are bound to the service of their fathers. Tempting the humans with the vices of their fathers. The idea of personal choice is a strong theme in this story. Why can't the Nep choose?
As for the characters, I love Kaidan. Talk about a hottie. The son of the Duke of Lust, Kaidan is working by being a player. Unfortunately for him, his heart gets in the way. I love his strength despite his circumstances. He is tortured and brooding but his heart is truly in the right place. I have some very strong desires for his plight, his lack of choice. He's definitely under my skin and and I want thing to be better for him.
Anna is confused about who she really is. When she meets Kaidan, she learns the truth but nobody would be happy about what she learns. My heart goes out to her. She's tired very hard to walk the line being good her whole life only to have to set a lot of that aside to do what's required of her. Her heart broken over and over again by the circumstance of her existence. I REALLY want book 2 to find out how things work out for her - if they do.
The story follows Anna's POV and because of that I missed Kaidan a lot. Would love to see inside his head for a few chapters. This book traveled a path I was surprised about. Some little things I saw coming but for the most part I was very enthralled.
Such a fresh new author for the YA market, I can't wait to read book 2. If you love the paranormal world of YA, then this one is a must read for you.
I have an interview with Kaidan coming up the 27th, make sure and stop back by for that.

Great review! I'm definitely looking forward to reading this one and it sounds really interesting! The few angel books I've read recently haven't exactly lived up to expectations, so I do want to check this out as it sounds excellent :)

I loved Kaidan as well. He's a bad boy, but his heart is in the right place and he has his reasons for acting the way he does. I absolutely can't wait for book two either!

Andrea is letting me borrow this one. I was told by a friend though to wait to read it until the next book releases, because the ending is a killer. Would you agree?
