Anomaly: Check

Check, check, check, check...That's all my life is. There's nothing ordinary about me. I'm "special." I know this because I'm reminded of it every stinking day. I can kick a Daemon's ass with both hands tied behind my back. I can run up a mountain without breaking a sweat. Know what I can't do? Get guys to notice me, or hang out with friends like normal people do. I can't just be ordinary because I have an Arch Angel for a mentor who is always breathing down my neck, and a family of angelic Guides and Protectors who scrutinize every little thing I do. Just for a day I want a life where I'm no longer some anomaly, where I don't have to feel like a lab rat.

And then I met Emrys. Okay, so my mentor and family hate him, but probably for good reason. After-all, he is a Soul Trader, and they aren't the most trust worthy beings. But, he is sooo hot with his green eyes, leather jacket and the sexiest tattoo you've ever seen running down his back. And-he doesn't treat me like a project.

I've got myself in quite a little quandary here. Choosing between my responsibilities and the Trader that holds my heart is something I didn't sign up for. Torn between two different worlds, I must now decide who to trust and who to walk away from. What's a girl to do? See what I mean? I am an anomaly. I am Jordyn.

~~~~~
Today, I have this goofy interview with Tiffany King to share with you! YAY!
What's the strangest place you have ever written?
LOL, the strangest place I've ever  written would have to be Universal Studios. I wrote on my iPad while my kids rode the rides. It was actually a very productive day for me, though the hard plastic seats were rough on my bottom.
Have you ever been recognized in the crowd as a writer? (If not, describe the crazy event that COULD take place).
Hehehe, nope, not yet, and I can't even imagine the scene. I'm shy by nature and freeze up whenever I'm at an event. If only I could hide behind Twitter and Facebook whenever I'm out in public.
A teen who wants to become a writer asks you how you figure out how to describe a kissing scene.  What do you say?
I would tell them to imagine the kind of kissing scene that makes their own toes curl and write it down. You can never go wrong with kissing scenes IMO ;)
Which guy that you've written do you most wish could leave the pages and kiss you?
Gahhhhhhh, I love all my guys, but I'd have to go with Emrys. He's so mysterious, but boy, he kisses like there's no tomorrow.
When a new story is born, do you dive for the computer or scribble on whatever you can find?
For me, when a new story is born, I first work it out in my head. I like to let it flash through my mind like a movie. By allowing it to manifest in my mind first, I'm able to work out problems that otherwise might have turned into a pain in the neck (or pain in the book) ;)
This or That?
Kiss or cuddle: I'm a fan of kissing, but I LOVE cuddling.
Theater or DVD: Hmmmm, for a big movie, theater definitely. For all the rest of the movies, I prefer DVD.
Coffee or tea: Diet Coke ;)
Milk chocolate or Dark chocolate: Milk chocolate baby!!!!!!
eBook or Paperback: Paperback for my pretty bookshelf, but eBook for actually reading. I'm a techie girl.
Puppy or kitty: KITTYKITTYKITTYKITTYKITTYKITTYKITTY...okay you get the point...I love cats.
The intensity of his stare made my pulse race like a runaway racehorse as he placed his hands on my sides.  His fingers splayed across my bare skin igniting a fire inside me.
"Why don't you do that tongue trick again now that I have you where I want you," he said as he leaned in to nip at my chin.
"You mean this?" I asked, darting my tongue out to moisten my lips.
He groaned slightly, running his hands up my sides, never taking his eyes from mine.  His knuckles grazed the sides of my breasts as they continued their journey up my torso.  They finally rested around my neck anchoring me into place.  His eyes moved to my lips and I fought the urge to close the distance between us. (Kindle location 51%)
Synopsis
Some things are worth waiting for…
Traveling thousands of miles from home to enter college is the only way nineteen-year-old Avery Morgansten can escape what happened at the Halloween party five years ago—an event that forever changed her life. All she needs to do is make it to her classes on time, make sure the bracelet on her left wrist stays in place, not draw any attention to herself, and maybe—please God—make a few friends, because surely that would be a nice change of pace. The one thing she didn’t need and never planned on was capturing the attention of the one guy who could shatter the precarious future she’s building for herself.
Some things are worth experiencing…
Cameron Hamilton is six feet and three inches of swoon-worthy hotness, complete with a pair of striking blue eyes and a remarkable ability to make her want things she believed were irrevocably stolen from her. She knows she needs to stay away from him, but Cam is freaking everywhere, with his charm, his witty banter, and that damn dimple that’s just so… so lickable. Getting involved with him is dangerous, but when ignoring the simmering tension that sparks whenever they are around each other becomes impossible, he brings out a side of her she never knew existed.
Some things should never be kept quiet…
But when Avery starts receiving threatening emails and phone calls forcing her to face a past she wants silenced, she’s has no other choice but to acknowledge that someone is refusing to allow her to let go of that night when everything changed. When the devastating truth comes out, will she resurface this time with one less scar? And can Cam be there to help her or will he be dragged down with her?
And some things are worth fighting for…
Praise for Tragedy Paper: “relatable and unusually gripping, even for an older reader...Romantic love, hard work, loyalty, friendship, suffering: Like the greattragedies that inspired the novel, it's all here. LaBan's take on adolescent life is rendered in the sweet, intelligent tradition of John Irving, but without any of the prep-school genre's self-satisfaction.” — Philadelphia Inquirer
Praise for Timeless:  a captivating romance and mystery spanning three decades of high-society life and intrigue in New York City." — Amazon Best Books of the Month
Book Description:
He had held a secret that destroyed her world.
Everything she had known was no longer true.
Blaire couldn’t stop loving him but she knew she could never forgive him.
Now, she was back home and learning to live again. Moving on with life… until something happened to send her world spinning once again.
What do you do when the one person you can never trust again is the one that you need to trust so desperately?
You lie, hide, avoid, and pray that your sins never find you out.
Did you miss the first one?
Book Description:
To want what you’re not supposed to have…
She is only nineteen.
She is his new stepfather’s daughter.
She is still naïve and innocent due to spending the last three years taking care of her sick mother.
But for twenty-four year old Rush Finlay, she is the only thing that has ever been off limits. His famous father’s guilt money, his mother’s desperation to win his love, and his charm are the three reasons he has never been told no.
Blaire Wynn left her small farmhouse in Alabama, after her mother passed away, to move in with her father and his new wife in their sprawling beach house along the Florida gulf coast. She isn’t prepared for the lifestyle change and she knows she’ll never fit into this world. Then there is her sexy stepbrother who her father leaves her with for the summer while he runs off to Paris with his wife. Rush is as spoiled as he is gorgeous. He is also getting under her skin. She knows he is anything but good for her and that he’ll never be faithful to anyone. He is jaded and has secrets Blaire knows she may never uncover but even knowing all of that…
Blaire just may have fallen too far.
My Thoughts:
5 stars - I can never get enough Rush!
At the end of FALLEN TOO FAR, my heart was broken.  I loved both of these characters and was so distraught over their relationship.  NEVER TOO FAR could not come out soon enough for me.
In this next book, Blaire is hurting and not sure where her life is headed.  Then a twist I totally saw from the last book became a reality for her and she was thrown upside down again.  But here's the thing, she was already upside down - this may be the right side up turn....right?  It can be dizzy though, for sure.
Back in the same town with the complete devastated Rush, Blaire struggles to be just friends with him.  Her attraction to him has heated up even more than before and she reacts to his touch in delicious ways.
My heart broke for Rush in this book.  He struggled to figure out how to still love and protect his sister, Nan, and get Blaire back because he was deeply and complete in love with her.  He kept messing up but no one can fault him for trying.  I love him.  He's come so far.  I can never get enough Rush!
Blaire is hard to convince.  She was hurt so bad and she can't take the chance it will happen again, but she loves him.  Now with even more reason to want to be with him, she learns what her heart wants.  Will she learn that she can forgive and forget even the one that hurt her the most.
The pacing  of this book is perfect.  I was so glad when Blaire came back so quickly.  Those two needed to be in the same city for this to work.  I didn't want a big long section of them apart at the beginning to wade through but everything was perfect.  Well, the pacing was perfect.  Those two struggled for sure.
While I did guessed the main twist all the way back in book 1, there were still some secrets to be held/discovered in this one.  I was very surprised about the major one that comes to light at the end of the book.  Nicely done.
This one is new adult and has some hot and steamy scenes, so it's 18 and up only for sure.  But if you read the first one, then you so need to read this one.  If you missed the first and love NA romance, then make sure and pick this one up.
I'm even more excited now to read Twisted Perfection, book 3, which is Woods story! YAY!
Book Description:
Life outside of her house was a new experience for Della Sloane. The dark secrets of her past weren’t something she ever intended to share with anyone. They would never understand. No one would ever get close enough to find out. Besides there was always a chance she’d go crazy sooner than they expected…
Woods Kerrington had never been one to be attracted to fragile females. They seemed like too much work. He wasn’t in it for the work just the pleasure. A night full of naughty fun had been exactly what was on his mind when he’d laid eyes on the hot little number that didn’t know how to pump gas and needed some help.
What he didn’t know was she was as fragile as they came.
The carefree girl who spoke her mind and didn’t care what the world thought of her was more breakable than he could ever imagine…
