When college freshman Rowan Michaels meets gorgeous, up-and-coming rock star Adam Everest, she knows a player like him is the last thing she needs after her ex-boyfriend shattered her heart. But she can't stop thinking about the kiss they shared on his tour bus.

On the first day of school, Rowan is stunned when Adam saunters into her French class. He's soon failing miserably, and, on a whim, she offers to tutor him. But Adam doesn't recognize her as a makeup-free, glasses-clad college student—a far cry from the beautiful, mysterious "Peach" he met at his concert.

During a wild weekend on tour with the band, Rowan can't help falling for the sweet guy buried beneath Adam's rocker persona. Yet she knows she could never compete with the girls constantly throwing themselves at his feet. She'd just end up hurt … again.

Peach is all Adam thinks about, though, and when Rowan realizes this, she has a decision to make: stay just friends to protect her fragile heart … or reveal the truth about the night they met and admit she's fallen completely, hopelessly in love with him.

 Swoon...

After a long moment of silence, he lifts his arm so that the covers are held up and there's nothing separating us but open space.
"Come here."
"Why?"  I nervously ask.  I want to go to him, badly but my nerves are making me run my mouth instead of closing the distance between us.
"Because I'm going to hold you."
"You're going to hold me?"  Adam nods against his pillow.
"Why?"  He pauses for a moment and then he says,
"Peach?"
"Yeah?"
"Stop asking questions and just get over here."

Review...

What happens when a player doesn't play?  What happens when the guy who asked you to wait till marriage doesn't wait?  What happens when breakup meets rock concert?  Mayhem happens.

I adore this book and I'm having a hard time putting it behind me.  I keep re-listening to parts of it again and again.  It's on my mind a lot and I can't want for book two.

Since I listened to this one, lets talk about the narrators.  I really enjoyed both of them.  The voice that the female narrator has for Adam is so sexy.  I could listen to it all day long.  The last chapter is from Adam's POV and the male narrator does a good job of capturing him.  They added to the experience - high praise from me.

Adam is a player and a rock star.  He does things that make me want to smack him.  But his adorable grins and true feeling show through despite his best efforts to push them back.  He's not looking for a relationship but one found him and he can't quite get her off his mine.

Rowan (Peach) has her heart shattered.  She shouldn't be drawn to the sexy rocker.  She shouldn't be lying to him either but she's trying to protect her heart.  Trying to survive her time with the boy that definitely has her mind off that rotten ex of hers.  She knows he doesn't want a relationship and friendship is the best they can do but she can't resist letting her heart get involved.

Can I just say that there are several things about this story that if I just said "this happens" or "that happens", I don't think I'd want to read it.  But what's weird is that when you put those things together and you add Adam FREAKING Everest into the mix, I'm all over it.  It's just that good.  It has that book magic where things just work and the story has you invested in these characters.

I think people who have read Jamie McGuires Beautiful series will enjoy this one as well.  But if you can get behind some "weird" (this is weird, right) situations and some rocking good sexy times, then this New Adult book should be on your short list!
