Contradictions (Woodfalls Girls, #3) by Tiffany King
When everything starts spinning out of control . . .
Three years into college, Tressa Oliver’s life is a nonstop party. She’s skating by in her classes, and there’s no shortage of drinking, dancing, and general hell-raising. The only aspect that hasn’t been much fun: She can’t shake the toxic jerks that always seem to gravitate toward her.
It will take someone totally wrong . . .
Trent Lawson is the classic anti-bad boy: smart, boring, and way too serious. To a wild girl like Tressa, there’s no way in hell they’re compatible—especially since Trent seems to see straight through her defenses.
To set her right.
When a college prank goes terribly wrong, Tressa starts to suspect that her partying ways are leading nowhere fast. Now she has to turn to the last person she ever thought she’d ask for help—and quickly discovers that there’s more to Trent than meets the eye . . .

Review...
I adore Tiffany King books. In this book, I adore Trent. Different. This boy is different. He's a geek and a hunk. Glasses and a sexy chest. The boy is a contradiction in himself. I love that he's so smart and yet he makes mistakes - some big ones. I love that he's confident. When someone asks him (in front of Tress) if she's his girlfriend, his response is "that's the plan". Adore that. AND I adore that he sees Tressa. He gets her and that scares her. But this contradiction of a relationship just works.
This book reads different than most New Adult romance I've read, including other books in this series. I think that what I really enjoyed about it. It's not the stereotype kind of characters you see so often. Yeah, Tressa is a partier but her reaction to college prank is different than most. She seeks to make a change in who she is and what choices she's making. I admire that. Life changes you. It can break you and it can heal you. I loved seeing that in Tress.
And Trent is not your average New Adult yummy boy. He's not getting all the girls. He's more likely to stay home and watch a movie as head to a party. He's totally immersed in his studies. But he's also been loving Tressa for a while and it's time to do something about it. Love that.
The one thing that was threw me in this one was the ending. Don't get me wrong, I like it. It just was different than most books. The conflict that ends up getting resolved is usually...um... more painful, if that makes sense. I guess that's just another reason that this book has a different feel than most books.
If you've read about the other two friends in this series, you'll want to read about Tressa. It can be read stand alone, though. Peeps that enjoy New Adult that's not like all the rest will enjoy this one for sure.

Author Interview...
Hey Tiff! Thanks for talking to me today!
Absolutely anything for you---always!
Tell me about this series. How did you come up with it?
As the New Adult genre was picking up steam, I wanted to come up with an idea for a series that was different than the typical good girl meets bad boy narrative. The idea of three friends from a small town, branching out on their own to discover themselves in a big world appealed to me. Hopefully, to my readers also.
If you could combine a secondary character from two different books to make a new story, who would it be and what would their story be about?
Travis, Justin's younger brother: from my book, Misunderstandings
Derek, Tressa and Cameo's friend: from my book, Contradictions
Everyone converges on Woodfalls for a small town holiday Christmas experience. Travis and Derek meet, but it's far from love at first sight. Sparks fly during the traditional "White Elephant" Christmas gift exchange, and with the help of a little mistletoe and a few sips of Fran's famous hooch eggnog, a budding romance ensues.
Tell me something about Tressa and Trent we don’t learn in their book.
Trent prefers to go commando, says he enjoys the freedom. Although she is from Maine, Tressa absolutely detests seafood.
When you come up a new character, what comes first - looks or personality?
Personality. My character's behavior and personality traits tend to evolve while writing the story, and usually, I develop an idea about their looks based on their actions.
What’s your favorite read for 2014 and why?
Monument 14 by Emmy Laybourne. Great post apocalyptic story. If that is your thing, I highly recommend it.
Thanks girl!
