A Bleeding Stars Standalone Novel

Zachary Kennedy has never been known as a fighter, but he’ll never regret fighting for her…

I’m Zee Kennedy.
Quiet. Reserved. Predictable.
When my brother died, everyone thought I was just the good guy who stepped up to take his place in the band.

No one knew what I was hiding. The one thing I’ve been fighting for.

For seven years, I’ve never lost focus.

Not until one chance encounter with Alexis Kensington.

Now she’s become my greatest temptation.
I knew better than to touch her, but now that I’ve had a taste, I can’t get enough.
Her kiss becomes my air. Her body my salvation.

She needed a savior and somehow she became mine.

Taking her was a betrayal. But keeping her means risking everything.
One look at Alexis Kensington, and I know she’s worth the fight.
Will my past continue to keep me down or will I finally find the strength to pull myself up and Stand…

I will admit that I haven't read this whole series (something I will fix very soon) so I haven't wondered about Zee and wished I knew his secrets.  BUT, I did wonder the whole of this book.

What an emotional ride!  Zee is tortured by a past he feels is all his fault.  His penance is the present and his lack of a personal future.  He lives for the band.  He lives only part of the rock stars life.  And he captures the heart of Alexis.  She will never be the same again.

This book has an almost fantasy feel as these two try to outrun fate.  Because fate has had enough of being out run.  And the sparks that fly between these two are not to be denied.  They are each other's half and together they make a whole.  Not istana love at all but instana sparks and a draw that won't be quieted.  I loved it all.

Obviously, I loved the characters.  They feel real.  And I loved the way that Zee's secrets revealed his character.  Yes he made mistakes but I forgave him.  Mostly it is his reactions to those in need that tell me what I need to know about him.  And he's so real to me.  I simply adore him.

Alexis too is real and feels like a good friend.  She wants her twin back but doesn't have a tough love bone.  So she keeps giving herself no matter the risk.  Zee and Alexis?  They are meant for each other.  They deserve each other.

The story unfolds with the present being the most dominate aspect.  Flash backs to the past occasionally pop up to reveal some of what happened to Zee and his brother.  I began to have an idea of what went down but I was missing big chunks because the past was complex.  I enjoyed unwrapping it piece by piece hoping to find the loophole that would free Zee.

I read this one quickly because I wanted to know every detail and I was so hoping for Zee's happy.  It's a series ending book so there were a lot of tying things up that happened.  And while I haven't read the stories of all the band mates, I did appreciate the bow on the series as a whole.  And I now own all the books in the series.  They shall be devoured.

This one stands alone but what it really does is bring the need to read them all.

It's a great romance that's more than the sum of it's parts.  It has great romance, lots of sparks flying and sexy times.  It has a hot band.  It has a great story with emotions and pain.  It reads fast with the pages flying.  It has real characters that you cheer for and cry for.  But when you put all those together, this book is more.  A must read for the romance reader.  Loved it.
