Waiting On Wednesday ~ 1/20/16

This is our version of Waiting on Wednesday but with more cuddles, books we can't wait to cuddle for various reasons.

What are we waiting on this week?  THIS!

For some people, silence is a weapon. For Mallory “Mouse” Dodge, it’s a shield. Growing up, she learned that the best way to survive was to say nothing. And even though it’s been four years since her nightmare ended, she’s beginning to worry that the fear that holds her back will last a lifetime.

Now, after years of homeschooling with loving adoptive parents, Mallory must face a new milestone—spending her senior year at public high school. But of all the terrifying and exhilarating scenarios she’s imagined, there’s one she never dreamed of—that she’d run into Rider Stark, the friend and protector she hasn’t seen since childhood, on her very first day.

It doesn’t take long for Mallory to realize that the connection she shared with Rider never really faded. Yet the deeper their bond grows, the more it becomes apparent that she’s not the only one grappling with the lingering scars from the past. And as she watches Rider’s life spiral out of control, Mallory faces a choice between staying silent and speaking out—for the people she loves, the life she wants, and the truths that need to be heard.

Val - Of course I want this one because JLA wrote it but after listening to the book buzz about this one at ALA, I want it even more.  According to Harlequin Teen, this book is more literary than most of Jen's books.  She's pushing the limits of her writing and giving us something different but with her signature style.  I'm excited.

Jess - Ahhhh another JLA book! Am I ever not excited for these? Of course I'm so in. Plus, the premise is intriguing. I'm looking forward to meeting these characters (particularly Rider, who I saw Jen say on Twitter is named after an actor she had a crush on growing up---Rider Strong from Boy Meets World, a show I seriously freaking LOVE) and reading their story. Sounds like it's going to have all kinds of feels. Can't wait for May so I can get my hands on this book! (Also the cover is really pretty, so I'm excited to pet the crap out of it.)

That's what we're waiting on this week! What do you think? What are you waiting on? Leave us a comment and link us up!
