So my book boyfriend for the week is...

Ren!

Wicked (A Wicked Saga, #1)About WICKED:

Things are about to get Wicked in New Orleans.

Twenty-two year old Ivy Morgan isn’t your average college student. She, and others like her, know humans aren’t the only thing trolling the French Quarter for fun… and for food. Her duty to the Order is her life. After all, four years ago, she lost everything at the hands of the creatures she’d sworn to hunt, tearing her world and her heart apart.

Ren Owens is the last person Ivy expected to enter her rigidly controlled life. He’s six feet and three inches of temptation and swoon-inducing charm. With forest-green eyes and a smile that’s surely left a stream of broken hearts in its wake, he has an uncanny, almost unnatural ability to make her yearn for everything he has to offer. But letting him in is as dangerous as hunting the cold-blooded killers stalking the streets. Losing the boy she loved once before had nearly destroyed her, but the sparking tension that grows between them becomes impossible for Ivy to deny. Deep down, she wants… she needs more than what her duty demands of her, what her past has shaped for her.

But as Ivy grows closer to Ren, she realizes she’s not the only one carrying secrets that could shatter the frail bond between them. There’s something he’s not telling her, and one thing is for certain. She’s no longer sure what is more dangerous to her—the ancient beings threatening to take over the town or the man demanding to lay claim to her heart and her soul.

I finished Wicked on Christmas, and I swear. This book was a big THING for me. It's a holiday, I'm at my brother's house surrounded by family, and I'm sitting at the dining room table like "OH DEAR GOD." So, ya know. The book was kind of really freaking great. And a major part of that?

REN.

Oh sweet goodness, this book boy burrowed his way into my heart, and I cannot wait for more! I love him. But why? Well...

He gives just-because kisses...

Ren's mouth brushed mine as he murmured, "Mmm."
"What...what was that for?" I asked, blinking.
He laughed as he turned, switching the engine off. "It was a just-because kiss. Get used to it. You're going to get a lot of them."

And don't forget those cheek kisses...

Ren dipped his head again, and before I could process what he was doing, he swooped in and pressed his lips to my cheek.
I jerked back and stared up at him. "What in the hell?"
A wicked grin appeared. "You looked like you could use one."
My cheek tingled from where his lips made brief contact. "I looked like I could use a kiss on the cheek?"
"Yeah," he replied. "Everyone could use a kiss on the cheek once in a while. Plus, the expression you make when you're confused is fucking adorable."

There were also many moments when he sent my heart soaring...

He stared at me a moment, incredulity etching into his features. "What I know is that there is no guarantee of tomorrow. There is no promise there will be another day or week for us. When you want something, you go for it. I don't need your life story to want you. And don't twist that back on me. I see it already building in those pretty blue eyes. I want to know your story. I want to know you. I want--oh, fuck it."
Ren cupped my cheek, his hand gentle as he tilted my head back, and before my heart could take another beat, he kissed me.
It was no slow of seductive kiss.

I tried to slip out, but before my fingers even brushed the handle of the door, Ren snaked an arm around my waist and hauled me across the seat. Fat drops of rain pelted the window and coursed down in tiny rivers as he captured my wrists.
"Ren?"
With a half smile, he guided my hands to his chest, and I could feel his heart pounding under my palm. You've got to learn something, Ivy."
I raised my brows, desperately trying to play it cool even though my pulse had picked up. "Learn what? You're grabby and touchy-feely? I already know that."
"Smartass." He chuckled, lowering his head to mine. "You don't leave without a kiss."

And that barely scratches the surface of all the reasons I heart me some Ren. Val did a book boyfriend post for him a couple of weeks ago, and she pointed out some wonderful things about Ren, too. 2. I loved Ren! I think he might have actually dropped Daemon down to my number 3 favorite JLA male character stop.
