From White Hot Kiss...

 

Roth tells it like it is...

Roth laughed softly.  His head tipped down and suddenly our lips were inches apart.  If he had a soul, he'd be entering dangerous territory.  "I don't need to do any convincing.  I'm a demon."

The corners of his lips tipped higher.  "Fear has a sharp, bitter scent.  I can smell that on you.  Anger is like a chili pepper -- it's hot and it burns.  And I can smell that, too."  Roth paused, and somehow, he was even closer.  So close that when he spoke next, his lips brushed the corner of mine.  "Ah, yes...and then there's attraction.  Sweet, tangy and heavy; it's my favorite of them all.  And guess what?"

He has dimples & is easily pleased...

"Free will isn't bullshit, Roth."
He stopped suddenly in front of me and our eyes locked.
"Say it again."
I frowned.  "Say what?"
"My name."
"Roth...?"
The dimples appeared again.  "Did you know that was the first time you've used my name?  I've decided I quite like hearing you say it.  But back to my point--"

His stalker ways lead to some deep insight...

"I've watched you for a long time, always a few steps behind you.  I wasn't trying to be creepy when I told you that before."  He ran his finger along the hem of the borrowed shirt, his knuckles brushing the swell of my chest.  "You know what I saw?"
I blinked slowly.  "What?"
He stopped messing with the hem and slid his hand along the curve of my ribs as he bent his head down.  His lips moved against my ear.  "I saw something in you that you desperately try to hide from everyone.  Something that reminded me of myself."

Did I mention his sweet side...

Roth stopped and took both of my hands in his.  "I've missed you."

My heart did a weird little jump.

He brings the shivers...

Before I could even ask like what, Roth's lips traveled across my cheekbone.  Tiny, fiery shivers darted along my nerves.  His lips brushed the corner of mine, and my pulse fluttered wildly.  I was so far out of my league with him it wasn't funny. 

And his adorable side...

"You need something," he said, and when I stared at him, he added, "Your face"
"My face?"
"It's in need of my kisses."

From Stone Cold Touch...

Roth's hilarious...

Maddox hissed. "You think you're cute?"
"Nah, I think I'm sexy." The smirk spread, but it didn't touch his cool ocher eyes. "And I also think I'm hilarious."

He also has moments like these that make me happy...

Another shiver of apprehension slipped over my skin. When I started to pull back, to give voice to the near fear growing like a weed in the pit of my stomach, his arms finally--finally--encircled me. He pulled me tight against him, our bodies flush and pressed together in a way that reminded me of the night we'd found the Lesser Key. The muscles low in my stomach tightened as his hand smoothed up my spine, tangling n my hair. Bambi followed the caress, as if she sought to get closer to her true owner.
There was so much warmth in the embrace that it pushed the shadows away. I squeezed my eyes shut and soaked him up. I didn't know what his return meant, what it signified for us, but it didn't matter in that moment.

And there's this that makes me feel things...

Roth said nothing, and my lips tingled from how hard he was staring at them. He placed his hands just above my hips; the touch light and barely there. I wrapped my fingers around his wrists and started to remove his hands. "Don't," he said, voice low.

He also takes serious moments and makes them amusing...

"We're being followed."
Under the brim of his cap, Zayne's eyes dilated as he looked over his shoulder. He turned back around, picking up pace. "Two human males?"
"Yep," Roth replied, popping his lips.
I wanted to look behind me so badly, but I figured that would be a bit too obvious. "Any idea who they are?"
"Nope. Maybe they want to get your phone number," Roth replied. "Be a part of your fan club."

Val's Thoughts...

I adore Roth.  From his kittens to his muffin loving ways, he's one sexy demon.  He helps Layla get comfortable with a side of herself that she was raised to suppress.  His feelings for her are strong, enough to sacrifice himself.  But more than that, he set aside those feeling for what he felt was best for her.  She may not have agreed but he did it out of love.  He thinks freewill is garbage but he uses his to protect the women he loves.  I saw his love behind his jealous comments and protective gestures.  This demon will do whatever it takes for his girl.  I love that about him. 

Jess's Thoughts...

I freaking LOVE Roth. He's an amazing guy who has the best heart even though he's a demon. His humor can make any situation better. His sweetness can set my heart all kinds of aflutter with ease. In White Hot Kiss, he wormed his way into my heart and won me over completely with "I lost myself the moment I found you." Then in Stone Cold Touch he did it all over again--little things making me love him and swoon until we got around the end, and then I was a total goner. I could write a million love letters to this guy and still never be able to find the right words for how much I adore him. I just...I just really, really freaking LOVE Roth.
