So my book boyfriend for the week is
Captain Reed Porter
The New York Times bestselling author of The Valentine’s Arrangement continues her sizzling series with a new novel of a plan that goes awry—in the arms of a soldier…
Picking the wrong men is a talent Meagan Mitchell has perfected. She’s sweet, confident, beautiful—and single. With her thirtieth birthday sneaking up on her, she needs a new plan. No more Mr. Wrongs or Mr. Bads, it’s time to find Mr. Safe…
Army Captain, Reed Porter, lives for the thrill—he’s an Airborne Jumpmaster with a rush addiction. He’s sexy and playful, and he quickly tempts Meagan with his rich Southern drawl and sinful looks. But slowing down and settling down are not in his agenda, making him exactly the type of man Meagan wants to avoid…
As their undeniable attraction heats up, Meagan has to decide if she’s willing to risk everything on a chance at love with a reckless charmer. Is she brave enough to bet her future—and her heart—on Mr. Thrill? Or will Reed finally learn that the feeling of a safe landing is just as addicting as the rush of the fall?

Why?
His huge dog's named Tiny!
"I'm sorry. He caught me by surprise. I wasn't expecting him to take off like that. He's harmless." "Yeah, tell that to my cat," she said, looking up in the tree to where a black cat crouched, hissing at Tiny.Reed laughed. "Ah, makes sense now. He saw something he liked." And Reed saw something he liked as well."
He's a total kid!
Reed looked back and drank in the moment like he did before every jump. Everyone's adrenaline was pumping--the feeling of knowing that you were about to do something completely crazy, but knowing it was completely worth it, was humming through their minds. It was the best f***ing feeling, and seeing it across every single soldiers' face as they stood waiting like little kids ready to tear open their birthday presents never got old.
He likes surprises!
He pulled her body against him and she sucked in a quick breath--ah yes, he very much liked surprising her. His other hand lifted to her face and he pushed back the damp hair that was resting next to her cheek and his thumb skimmed over the smooth skin and traced her jawline. He leaned over her and his shoulders curled forward as he moved his face in close to hers. Her eyes stayed stoic, locked on his as if she were held in a trance. Her mouth parted slightly, and he could feel the smooth, soft puffs of air that were streaming from her lips, caressing his mouth. He smiled again. "I may not have recognized you, but I never forgot you," he whispered, and then his mouth crushed against hers before she had moment to respond.
He's profound!
He fixed his strong gaze on her and lowered his head so he was mere inches from her face. The close proximity did nothing but intensify the need he had to pull this women hard against his body. He took in a steady breath. "Sometimes, the things we're afraid of" --his words dropped off as he took the time to move a stray strand of hair that had fallen loose over her face-- "the things that scare us the most, are the things that give us the biggest rush," he said slowly, his words low and thick.
He's persuasive!
"Come on, it will be fun. It's got an in-ground pool surrounded by a huge deck, we're gonna float the river too. Plus, the firework show you can see from the cabin is amazing. It's the Fourth of July. Come."
AND, I haven't even finished the book yet! What do you think of Reed? Have a book boyfriend for me? Leave me a comment.
