  1. Eek! Another awesome giveaway. The cover plays a huge part for me, I need something that's going to draw me in and capture my attention without me even reading the blurb. x

  2. The cover is really important for me since it's what will generally attract me to the book but just because I don't like the cover doesn't mean I definitely won't read it :)

    ReplyDelete
  3. The cover is the last deciding factor for me. the priority is the summary and the reviews or recommendations i got... the cover could play in but only for which edition to pick for example ( when the price range is normal of course)

    ReplyDelete
  4. it is the first thing that catches my eye- this and the name of the book!

    ReplyDelete
  5. The cover of a book is really important for me, especially when buying from a physycal book store, since that's what determines wherther I pick up a book or not to look at it and read the blurb. When I shop online, though, I feel as if it's not so important. Thanks for the giveaway and congratulations on reaching 1,000,000 views! :)

  6. Covers are pretty important they are normally what catches my eye esp in a physical bookshop
    Congrats on 1 million views

  7. the cover play a big part for me idk why but if i don't like the cover i don't read the book :/

  8. I have been meaning to read these forever! Love the sound of them. And I will admit that the covers do play a role in whether I read the book or not- a good cover will always grab my attention but I don't discount a book just because I'm not a fan of the cover.

  9. Covers are important to me. Sometimes good books have crappy covers, while others have nice covers, but are not very good. They're important, but not everything.

    ReplyDelete
  10. It plays no part at all, since I only buy books that are on sale and already on my wishlist. Maybe the cover played a part in catching my interest and earning a place on that wishlist, but I don't buy books for the covers.

  11. I do think covers are important for the most part. They are a part of what draws people in to buy the book in the first place. However, I've read books with great covers that I didn't love and books with not so great covers that were wonderful. It's not always good to judge a book by its cover. You might miss out on a really great read.

Awesome giveaway Val!! Congrats to you too!

  12. The cover is very important for when I'm looking for a new book I won't even look at a book if I don't like the cover but if it's an author I know I like the cover doesn't matter as much

  13. I hate to say that the cover plays a big part in me even discovering it in the first place. I'm a cover snob so it's terrible, I won't even read the blurb. There's been a couple of books that blogs have raved about that I later realize that I completely disregarded cuz I didn't like the cover!

  14. The cover plays a big part in my purchasing decisions. I wish I could say I give every book the same chance but I don't. I've found that the cover is 90% accurate for books I will enjoy reading versus books I have to WILL myself to finish.

  15. The cover plays a rather big part in whether or not I purchase a book. I mean seriously, who doesn't love a great cover? I've never bought a book just because the cover looks great though.

I do think a book's title is more important to me. Sometimes the cover may look unappealing, but the title might make me pick it up to read the synopsis. I love good, fitting titles.

    ReplyDelete
  16. A big part, If I don't like the cover, I'm not going to buy it, even if the synopsis is interesting. I'd rather just read the ebook.

    ReplyDelete
  17. The cover always plays a big part for me. It helps me decide if I even want to pick up the book to see what the first few pages are like.

    ReplyDelete
  18. the cover is the first thing that catches my attention!

    ReplyDelete
  19. Hmm, The main think the cover does is get my attention.
I mean, you expect books with awesome covers to be, well, awesome, this sucks cause it's not always like that.
I will mostly overlook books with bad covers unless I stop and read the synopsis, Awesome covers are eye catching and are what make me look more into a book.

  20. The cover plays a big part in my decision to buy a book. If I don't like the cover I don't buy it.

    ReplyDelete
  21. The cover is important because Im a cover whore lol.. I usually based it on covers :D

    ReplyDelete
  22. a little part, i'm always more interested in the synopsis or in the reviews of the book

    ReplyDelete
  23. The cover plays a key part because that's what first attracts me to the book.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I hate to admit it but the cover usually attracts me first. I've read a bunch of amazing books with simple covers but usually the cover gets my attention first.

    ReplyDelete
  25. A book cover is what attracts me to a book that I am unfamiliar with. If I like the cover, I will then check out the blurb, and then the reviews. However, if a book is highly recommended by friends, I will get it even if the cover is not something that I like.

  26. A big one actually! If I like the cover I'll read the synopsis. If it sounds interesting I'll buy it if not I wont. The bad thing about a good book with un ugly cover is that if I'm at a bookstore I'll never pick it up to read the synopsis. I might only read it if I read the synopsis first and get my attention or someone that I trust recommends that book to me. Thank you for the giveaway :)

    ReplyDelete
  27. Thanks for the giveaway! For me, a really good cover is why I pick up books by authors I don't know. If it'd bland or unappealing I might otherwise grab it and potentially miss a great read

    ReplyDelete
  28. The cover is pretty important to me. I often pass a book up if I don't like the cover. The only way I end up reading books with covers I don't like is if other people are raving about how good they are.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Thanks for the awesome giveaway! I have to admit that it does play a role for me. I feel like sometimes you can tell the quality of the book from the cover. I don't always let that be the judge, but sometimes I do.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I try hard not to judge a book by its cover but sometimes if the cover is really bad I just feel like it wont interest me or if the cover is really good sometimes it pushes me to take a chance on it.

    ReplyDelete
  31. It can sometimes play a big part, if I've noticed the cover is one I've seen a dozen times, I'm less likely to even read the synopsis about the book.

    ReplyDelete
  32. The cover always big part of me when i wanna buy books from new author

    ReplyDelete
  33. If it looks cheesy I don't read it.

    ReplyDelete
  34. If it looks cheesy I don't read it.

    ReplyDelete
  35. It's huge - it's part of the main reason I'm attracted to a book. If I'm turned off by the cover, I won't want to read the book.

    ReplyDelete
  36. The cover plays a HUGE part for me too. It's what I notice first.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Huge, if I like the cover, I usually read the blurb right after.

    ReplyDelete
  38. If a cover is pretty I am more likely to buy a book, but if it's not and it sounds good, it won't stop me from buying a book. I guess it helps that I read a lot of blurbs for books before the cover is revealed so even if I am not a hug fan of the cover I will still give it a chance. These covers are great though and I have been meaning to read this series.

    ReplyDelete
  39. The cover attracts me to read the book but I also read the synopsis.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I really check the covers and if I like it I buy it because I believe the cover reveals the significance of the story. Thank you and Congratulations!!! <3

    ReplyDelete
  41. The covers are pretty much what bring me in to read the synopsis, so it is a lot of influence for me

    ReplyDelete
  42. Covers play a role, but the blurb is more important when I'm deciding to but a book.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Cover is the first thing I notice on a store's shelf or a web page, so it works more like an advertisement. Whether I buy it or not depends on the summary, reviews and sometimes price :)

    ReplyDelete
  44. The cover plays an important role...it is the one the reader first sees. I love books with pretty covers but the blurb must interest me too!

    ReplyDelete
  45. Covers are quite important when i choose books, as its the deciding factor to whether i pick it up or not, apart from the title sometimes. But I buy many books based on reviews and the synopsis though! :)

    ReplyDelete
  46. Covers tell me what kind of story I'll be getting. If I'm in the mood for NA reading, I'll gravitate toward "sensual" covers, and if I'm gonna read some YA, I'll look for "happy" covers :)

    ReplyDelete
  47. Covers make me look more closely at a book. I know there's that thing about not judging a book by the cover, but most of the time they do have very good stories. I always thought that if an author spent as much time and careful thought on the cover, he/she must have done the same with the writing.

    ReplyDelete
  48. The cover is every reason why I read books :)

    ReplyDelete
  49. Covers are part of the reason why I buy books that I know nothing about, for sure.

    ReplyDelete
  50. I love when the cover has something to do with the story! and i speically love book with beautiful stunning covers

    ReplyDelete
  51. It's important part, but doesn't mean that I buy all books with awesome covers :D Also very important is the synopsis :)

    ReplyDelete
  52. If i'm browsing in the bookstore or library, the cover definitely has to suck me in. However, if I'm just going off of booktube/blog/friend recommendations, the cover doesn't play a big part.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Even though they say "Don't judge a book just by its cover" but the first thing I see when I want to buy a book is the cover. If I found it good, then I start reading the synopsis and decide if i want to buy it or not. So, cover is really important for me :)

    ReplyDelete
  54. Th cover plays an important role for me because a great cover sure makes a difference but then the synopsis decides if I'm going to buy the book or not. :)

    ReplyDelete
  55. Thank you. It's very important but I'm more on the synopsis.

    ReplyDelete
  56. When i only shopped for paper books it was huge now i shop more by genre because ebooks it is different, but i still pay attion and to me it is what give's you that first impression of what the story is. so very important. thanks so much

    ReplyDelete
  57. I really like and prefer atractive covers, but the most important part is the contents (obviously). But I admit that sometines I buy books that have amazing covers :P If the cover looks great and the blurb is interesting, I'd buy the book.

    ReplyDelete
  58. The truth is that If the cover is beautiful you definitely going to pick the book and read the synopsis but I'm not going to buy a book only for the cover.

  60. As much as I hate to admit it, a lot. The cover is the first thing that catches my eye. If it grabs my attention I will read the blurb and possibly the book.

    ReplyDelete
  61. HUGE. It's the first thing that I look at. If the cover is beautiful, I'm going to pick it up and read the synopsis and if I liked it, I'm going to buy it. :D

    ReplyDelete
  62. Sometimes its what gets me to pick a book up. But I always go by the description then.

    ReplyDelete
  63. The book cover DEFINITELY is important to my decision on buying a book, because if it doesn't intrigue me, or look interesting, draw my attention and focus, capture my eye, etc. I probably won't even bother picking it up to look at it. I've been told "Don't judge a book by it's cover", but I kind of abandoned that phrase.
Besides the cover is technically, usually seems to be what you see at first glance. But that's my personal opinion.

    ReplyDelete
  64. if it is hardcover it doesn't matter because I can take the slip cover off, but if it's paperback I may not buy it.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Sometimes I buy a book because of its pretty cover!
