After a little more than 3 years blogging, I'm very excited to announce that StuckInBooks has gone over 1,000,000 page views!
I'm going to celebrate in the best possible way!
GIVEAWAYS
I have been collecting SIGNED copies of books to use as part of this celebration. Some I have bought and some have been kindly donated by the author. Each day, I will feature a book and offer a giveaway for it. Wanta see what I've got? See anything you'd like to win?
Today I have a signed copy of this!
Your mother hollers that you’re going to miss the bus. She can see it coming down the street. You don’t stop and hug her and tell her you love her. You don’t thank her for being a good, kind, patient mother. Of course not—you launch yourself down the stairs and make a run for the corner.Only, if it’s the last time you’ll ever see your mother, you sort of start to wish you’d stopped and did those things. Maybe even missed the bus.But the bus was barreling down our street, so I ran.Fourteen kids. One superstore. A million things that go wrong.
In Emmy Laybourne’s action-packed debut novel, six high school kids (some popular, some not), two eighth graders (one a tech genius), and six little kids trapped together in a chain superstore build a refuge for themselves inside. While outside, a series of escalating disasters, beginning with a monster hailstorm and ending with a chemical weapons spill, seems to be tearing the world—as they know it—apart.

ReplyDeleteI think they make good reads, even if some are kind of scary.
ReplyDeleteI love them. They take you out of what is the norm and bring you into worlds that may happen one day down the road. It's always fun and exciting to read dystopian and I do it more all the time.
ReplyDeleteIt depends on how well the story is written.
ReplyDeleteThey have to have a believable story line and honestly I prepare a tiny bit of romance. Also need some suspense and a little fear too! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThey make me want to move to a deserted island.
ReplyDeleteI generally like them, as long as they are well written. Thanks for the giveaway :)
ReplyDeleteI find them rather exciting to read. Such desperation.
ReplyDeleteI like them mostly
ReplyDeleteI generally find end of the world stories to be exciting and fun to read, though The Road was just about one of the worst books I've ever read.

ReplyDeleteI tell myself it's all lies but there's a tiny part in me that secretly believes them. It's interesting to see what other people think about the world ending.
ReplyDeleteI tend to like them and they are rather addictive.
ReplyDeleteThere's getting to be alot of them, so they have to be really spectacular to stand out these days.

ReplyDeleteI think it's very interesting to read in those type of settings!
ReplyDeleteI love end of world stories, but they have to be done right. Monument 14 trilogy is one of the rare ones that do it right, so would love to add a signed copy to my collection! :-) thanks!!!

ReplyDeleteLove them! I have read so many and I am still not sick of them.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love books involving the end of the world! They're my absolute favorite because I love dystopians. (:
ReplyDeleteI like them :) But how good a book is always depends of how well the writer writes it!
ReplyDeleteEnd of the world stories used to freak me out . . . but I guess I'm used to them now. The more creative the disaster is the more I'm interested.
ReplyDeleteTrying to sign up at the last minute, lol.
