- Because Jen was so impressed with the Half Blood Legion reward
Dawson and Daemon are identical twins & that's Dawson on the cover |
The last thing Dawson Black expected was Bethany Williams. As a Luxen, an alien life form on Earth, human girls are…well, fun. But since the Luxen have to keep their true identities a secret, falling for one would be insane. Dangerous. Tempting. Undeniable.
Bethany can’t deny the immediate connection between her and Dawson. And even though boys aren’t a complication she wants, she can’t stay away from him. Still, whenever they lock eyes, she’s drawn in. Captivated. Lured. Loved.
Dawson is keeping a secret that will change her existence…and put her life in jeopardy. But even he can’t stop risking everything for one human girl. Or from a fate that is as unavoidable as love itself.
I have a reward to give as well. I had an Amazon Gift Card/Book Depository Book giveaway going for spreading the word to vote for Alex. That goes to
picyadri
She's in Hungary and chose a book from the Book Depository. She chose a pre-order of Under the Never Sky, which I ordered today. Congrats & thanks for helping spread the word picyadri.
One comment on all this.
It seems I offended a twitter follower last night when I tweeted that my son was getting his friends to vote for Alex. She felt that each READER should get one vote and let the best heroine win. I disagreed and she unfollowed me. I just want to express my opinion about why I ask others to vote for Alex for me. I believe that if I'm willing to spend my time right before Christmas asking people on twitter and around me to vote for Alex even if they haven't read her book, then that shows the passion that I feel towards that character. The more passion that the readers feel about the character the better the character. I stand by my efforts to get Alex the win. I asked a lot of friends and family to take a minute and cast a vote because I feel strongly about Alex. It's not that I don't love Rose, I do. But I read Half-Blood before I read Vampire Academy and Alex will always be my favorite. I understand why this person was upset, she's a Rose fan and had never heard of Alex. Alex was winning at that point and she didn't like that. I understand that. I'm sorry she doesn't see my side but that's how I feel. Mostly, I'm sorry that this fun tourney upset someone. It's all meant for fun and to get us excited about the books we love. Nuf said.
Congrats on the win for Alex and congrats picyadri/sad it went a bit nasty yestrday

I lost a few followers too, it's pretty lame. Some people get offended too easily and don't have the passion that we do about loving a character or book so much.
ReplyDeleteEeeee! We won! *throws confetti*
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to hear someone got so upset over the tourney and about us spreading the word all around, I didn't know about that.:( But YOU are right, this was about having fun, about supporting our favorite character character, about spreading the love... People shouldn't get mean just because we're passionate about something and they have a different opinion.:|
Aaaanywaaay...:D I did have fun, I did feel the love, the respect and the support of this entire community. #HalfBloodLegion rocks!<3
And see ya in the next round!;)
Hey Val!
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the Alex support. I didn't get anything, personally, but I saw a few, not necessarily nastly tweets, tweets there towards the end stretch of the voting session. I felt a little offended just because I'm Alex's advocate but you know, everyone's gonna have their opinions. I even felt bad a little that Alex was in the lead. I don't know...don't think I'll be advocating next time.
But seriously, thanks so much for all your hard work; it hasn't gone unnoticed. :)
I have thoroughly enjoyed following the Heroine Tourney! I have received a few negative things for my #TeamClary tweets but its all in good fun and I'm cool with ppl unfollowing me if they don't want to listen to me cheer for a character that I love.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the Alex win!! Congrats picyadri!!!!
