Q. Name 3 authors that you would love to sit down and spend an hour or a meal with just talking about either their books or get advice on writing from?
So you want to know who I would want to spend an hour with? Hmm. I'd have to start with Cassandra Claire (The Mortal Instruments). I absolutely love her books and would love to spend time talking to her about her inspiration and her characters. Hopefully, I wouldn't go all fan-girl and embarrass myself. =)
After that obvious choice, it gets a lot harder to choose. The last two would be a tie between three. So I know I'm not following the rules here but when have I ever? I follow all three of these women on twitter and know a little bit about their personalities. It would be fun to get all three of them together to talk books. I would choose Julie Kagawa (The Iron Fey series), Josephine Angelini (Starcrossed) and Jennifer L. Armentrout (Half-Blood).
My three choices, turned four are:
What about you? Which authors would you want to spend an hour with?
Julie Kagawa is a good one! and Josephine too! she's a sweetheart!

I'm worried about fangirling around my favorite authors, too. I'd want to make a good impression, but I'd also want to let them know how much their work enthuses me! It's a fine line to walk. :-)
ReplyDeleteHey Valerie! Happy FF. Can't believe it's been another week. Great choices this week. So many authors to chose from.
ReplyDeleteOOh did you attend the Jennifer L. Armentrout chat a couple days ago?

I got to meet Julie Kagawa at BEA this year. I haven't read her books yet but she was very nice.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog earlier and have a great weekend!
All four of those are great choices! Definitely Cassandra Clare. Her characters are so funny, she must be great in person! Julie Kagawa was one of my choices, too. And Josephine Angelini is super sweet! I would love to meet her. And, of course, Jen, so we can squee about Aiden! Hahaha.
ReplyDeleteOld follower wandering back to your blog! Josephine Angelini and Cassandra Clare would be so awesome! Great choices!

Cassandra Clare is one I would like to meet, too, even though I've always been uneasy about the similarities between her (very good) Harry Potter fanfiction and her published novels. She's a brilliant writer, either way. Haven't read books by your other authors, but Half-Blood sounds intriguing.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my hop earlier, and I hope you have a great weekend! :)
Julie Kagawa is a another one I would have added to my list! She's such an amazing author! So is Josephine Angelini! Great list!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by! Have a great weekend. Love the blog. :)

I really must read Starcrossed. Everyone is raving about it!
ReplyDeleteI would love to meet Brenna Yovanoff, the author of The Replacement. If you liked The Iron Fey, you would really enjoy that one also... about a teen boy who knows he's a fairy changeling. I loved it.
I think I'd love to meet Cassandra Clare as well. Haven't read the other authors you've listed.
ReplyDeleteHI,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for stopping by my blog!

I have to read the Iron Fae Series!!
ReplyDeleteI JUST finished Starcrossed, so I 100 percent agree with your pick of Josephine Angelini! I really enjoyed her book and would love to discuss what it's like to be a first-time author!
ReplyDeleteI also picked a debut author- Veronica Roth! I loved Divergent and would DIE to meet this author in real life!
Great answer! Here's mine:
