All Lined Up by Cora Carmack

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Cora Carmack follows up her trio of hits—Losing It, Faking It, and Finding It—with this thrilling first novel in an explosive series bursting with the Texas flavor, edge, and steamy romance of Friday Night Lights.

In Texas, two things are cherished above all else—football and gossip. My life has always been ruled by both.

Dallas Cole loathes football. That's what happens when you spend your whole childhood coming in second to a sport. College is her time to step out of the bleachers, and put the playing field (and the players) in her past.

But life doesn't always go as planned. As if going to the same college as her football star ex wasn’t bad enough, her father, a Texas high school coaching phenom, has decided to make the jump to college ball… as the new head coach at Rusk University. Dallas finds herself in the shadows of her father and football all over again.

Carson McClain is determined to go from second-string quarterback to the starting line-up. He needs the scholarship and the future that football provides. But when a beautiful redhead literally falls into his life, his focus is more than tested. It's obliterated.

Dallas doesn't know Carson is on the team. Carson doesn't know that Dallas is his new coach's daughter.

And neither of them know how to walk away from the attraction they feel.

My Thoughts:

5 stars - Giggles and sighs are just the beginning of the yumminess that is this book!  Simply delicious!

I have been a huge fan of Cora Carmack since her first book, Losing It.  Her writing is fun and fresh, making the perfect New Adult books.  Why?

The characters feel real.  I cannot believe how much I connected with Dallas.  I kept thinking, is this girl me?  From her insecurities to her relationship with her father, she felt so real to me.  Trying so hard to be the person she wants to be while fighting the urge to run when things get hard, Dallas is working through the pain her ex left her with.  The same ex that's the star quarterback at the college she attends AND where her father is the coach.  No football players for this girl.  Um...except she doesn't know that Carson is a football player when she meets him.  The chemistry is zinging all over the place too.

Carson is real as well.  He grew up poor and is trying to break onto the team as a walk-on.  He's good but didn't have the opportunities some of the other players did.  His family has sacrificed to get him in this position and he can't blow it by dating the coaches daughter.  But he also can't get Dallas off his mind or out of his fantasies.

There are giggles to be had.  I found myself giggling through this book.  I love that Dallas has no filter.  Sometimes the things that come out of her mouth bust Carson and me up.  Add Stella - Dallas' besty - and there were just some serious giggling.

I made short work of over 300 pages.  I read it straight through.  I had an afternoon to myself and I never once wanted to put it down, so I didn't.  It was just that good - that delicious.

I enjoyed the ride.  Every book needs misunderstanding and angst or there would be no story.  Some books are more painful with that than others.  While this book has had me guessing where things were headed, I never was pained as I read.  I enjoyed watching it play out.  So yummy.

If you love New Adult, then this one needs to head to the top of your list.  Totally love this one.  So yummy.  So delicious!  Don't miss it.

  2. Heroes that play sports always seem to be able to get a win in the very last few seconds of the game. They are very dedicated to their team and want to win.

  3. I think the commitment that sports-themed heroes display toward their team & their love interest are more enhanced than a non-sports hero. And, of course, the way they look in their uniforms! Thanks for the giveaway!
