Tiger Magic by Jennifer Ashley ~ Review

He was once a captive, but his urges were never caged. Now he’ll release them on a beautiful stranger whose own secret desires are longing to be sated…

He doesn’t have a name. He doesn’t have a clan. The humans who held him prisoner for forty years have taken them away. He knew nothing but captivity until nearly a year ago, when he was released into the light. Now Tiger lives in the Austin Shiftertown, where he struggles to belong and searches for an identity.

Carly Randal thinks her fabulous life is complete—until her car breaks down on the side of the road, and a wild-looking Shifter is the only one to help her. Tiger takes one look at Carly and knows instantly—she will be his mate. As Carly is drawn into his Shifter world, she risks everything she has for that forbidden something she still wants: passionate love.

Shifter cats are lions, panthers, leopards, and such but they are not tigers.  Well, not that anyone knew of...until Tiger.

Tiger was raised in captivity and not in a pride like most cat shifters.  He's not like the other shifters.  Not like the shifters that came from the Fae wars, their battle beasts.  He can do things that no other shifter can do.  He was rescued and now tries to live with the Austin sifters.  But he's not like them.  He's a tiger without a name.  His human hair is striped like a tiger.  And when he meets Carly on the road where her fancy car has broken down, he decides she's his mate.

Yeah, mating doesn't work that way but Tiger sees things differently.  It's supposed to be a mate claim that the female can accept or turn down.  And the women is engaged.  Tiger is different.  And he just knows things.  Not a good thing to bet against Tiger.

I loved this book.  Because Tiger doesn't talk much.  He's more basic than most of the shifters in this series.   He sees things like how to fix a car.  And Carly is a human that has some unpleasant surprises in this story.  And she's sweet, friendly and has an adorable charm.  Never having met a shifter before, she's intrigued by him.

While I've enjoyed all the books in this series, this one is a favorite.  I think it's because of Tiger.  He's not the normal kind of shifter.  He's sure of himself.  He's kind.  He's protective.  He's great with cubs.  And he's Tiger.

Definitely great shifter romance.  Check out this series, this book if you haven't already.
