Bodyguard by Jennifer Ashley ~ Review

Elizabeth Chapman is saved from an armed robber by a giant Kodiak bear who shifts into a large, well-muscled, and fully naked human male. But when it's revealed that the robber is the brother of a dangerous criminal, Elizabeth finds herself the target of a vendetta. Ronan, the Bear Shifter, takes her to Shiftertown for safety, where Elizabeth learns that the mateless Ronan, alone in the world, takes care of Shifters who have also been left on their own. Having grown up in foster care, Elizabeth can only admire how protective Ronan is. But Ronan will only let Elizabeth leave the confines of Shiftertown if he becomes her 24/7 bodyguard. Elizabeth chafes at the restriction, but agrees. The trouble is, the sassy human Elizabeth is triggering Ronan's long-buried need to find himself a mate.

Oh, I really like Ronan!  Bear shifters are always so much fun.  Ronan is ultra protective and a big softie when it comes to cubs that have no clan or home.  He is really the star of this novella.

I jumped right into another book from Jennifer Ashley's Unbound series.  I haven't read too many bear books but I enjoy them.  They have a different temperament to wolves or cats.  One thing that's very much the same is how protective they are.  Ronan doesn't want Elizabeth to leave shifter town as long as she's still at risk.  Yeah, having a 24 hour bear bodyguard could be fun.  But I love that Elizabeth fights him on it.  She's mouthy and pushes to get her own way.  Never let a bear walk all over you.  But can really resist a bear when he's calling you Lizzy girl and being as sweet as Ronan?

Of course, there is a lot of hot and sexy moments between human and bear.  This whole series has been searing hot.  I love how these shifter males just take over being super protective and then all of a sudden they realize the reason for their over protectiveness.  Yep, they find their mates.  While that's not real world, I don't care.  I'm not reading paranormal for read world stories.  I love the way mates just fit right.  And these two definitely do fit right.

This one gets a little dangerous while the whole robber/criminal element is worked out.  Just gives Ronan more opportunities to be super protective.  Adorable really.

I'm really enjoying this series and keep picking up the next one as soon finish one.  Won't be different here.  If you enjoy good paranormal shifter romance, this is a good series and book to read.
