Perfect Mate & Lone Wolf by Jennifer Ashley ~ Review

Cormac has been moving from one Shiftertown to the next in search of a mate. Now he's in southern Nevada, where a beautiful, unmated bear Shifter greets him...with a shotgun in her hands.

Nell is a hot-tempered mother of two cubs, and she doesn't take kindly to new Shifters showing up in town without her consent - even one with a sexy smile and brilliant blue eyes. But when her sons are endangered and she desperately needs help protecting them, Cormac proves he's worthy of her trust as well as her desire.

Ellison's story

Ellison Rowe, a Lupine Shifter, makes it his goal to protect Maria, once held captive by ferals, from male Shifters looking for mates. He likes Maria's resilience and fire, but she's been broken, and Ellison wants more than anything to heal her. When a new danger threatens Shiftertown's cubs, Maria partners with Ellison to stop a cold-blooded criminal.

Definitely love these novellas in this series.  It's so fun to see some of the secondary characters get their story!

Perfect Mate

Hehe...so this book is adorable.  Okay, yeah, a bear story is going to be fun but I loved this one.  Enter one very strong female bear.  She has two grown cubs but since shifters live much longer than humans, she's still very much mate material.  And she is mate material.  Her mate from years ago is gone.  And that whole part of her history is critical for this story.  And it's sweet.  But, Nell is one angry bear.

Cormac shows up looking for his mate working on Nell's kitchen without her permission.  Yeah, that didn't go over well at all.  He's looking for Nell.  She's mad.  Yeah, it's got great banter.  But Cormac has his reasons and he's not giving up without a whole lot of fight.

Mixed within this is a danger to this Shiftertown.  Some messes don't stay cleaned up and one has come calling.  It's making things dangerous.  Nothing like dangerous to make shifters protective.

Good story.  Great shifter romance.

Lone Wolf

Poor Ellison.  Every time a sexy female shows up around Shiftertown, he too late to mate claim her.  Always late to the game.  This time, he feels the need to protect the fiery waitress at the Shifter bar from a very rude human.  His timing might be perfect.

Maria was rescued from really horrible shifter down in Mexico a few books back.  She was there against her will and has the emotional scars from it.  Ellison is the perfect shifter to sweet talk her.  Yeah, he may sound like he's from Texas but he's really from Colorado.  But he's taken on all things Texas and has the southern charm down pat.

Maria is more feisty then I expected and I was glad.  I really enjoyed her strong personality.  I loved how she stood up to the dominate shifters and the sweet talking Ellison.  Adorable

Another good story.  More great shifter romance.
