Teaser Tuesday ~ 11/3/15

This is a weekly bookish meme hosted by MizB at Should Be Reading.

To participate you:
* Grab your current read
* Open to a random page
* Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
* BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS!
(Make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
* Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

From the author of the New York Times bestselling Bad Boys novels comes the second book in a dark, sexy contemporary trilogy.

He’s a fighter who never loses, but is he tough enough to win her heart?

There was a time when I had everything–a wonderful family, a bright future. Love. But all that was taken away in a single night, torn from me like flesh from bone. Since then, I’ve hidden away in my second-choice job as a makeup artist. But I prefer it that way, actually. I’m comfortable in the shadows, where no one can see my scars.

Kiefer Rogan literally took my breath away the moment I met him. MMA champion-turned-actor, notorious playboy, charming to a fault—he’s everything I vowed to avoid.

But he just wouldn’t stop until I opened up and let him in. Maybe I should’ve tried harder to resist him. Maybe I shouldn’t have fallen in love with him. Because I, of all people, know that everyone has secrets. Scars. And that they’re usually ugly and painful and destructive to the people we love most.

I just never guessed that they could be deadly, too.

Teaser...

"Just lean into me and hold on," he says, his voice coming through loud and clear into my helmet.  So clear, in fact, that I can hear the smile he's wearing even though I can't see it.
I like this, this bike, this anonymity.  I can enjoy touching him, being wrapped around him without having to explain myself or worry about his all-seeing eyes.  Maybe a motorcycle isn't such a bad thing after all.
That's what I'm thinking right up until he darts away from the curb and accelerates so fast that I fear the front wheel will come off the ground.  After that, my only thought is survival.  (Page 106)

Hehe.  So love this man.  Rogan. *sigh*

Capture (Seaside Pictures, #1)Losing your ability to speak at the age of seventeen; it’s not normal or fair.
But trauma, has a way of throwing normality out the window.

Dani lives anything but a normal life.
Her sister is married to one of the biggest names in Hollywood.
Her best friends are rockstar duo AD2.
And she has more love around her than most people experience in a lifetime.
But that doesn't change the fact their parents are dead.
Or that it's her fault.

It seems her new normal is being a mute, living on the inside, unable to actually communicate on the outside.
That is until Hollywood’s newest heartthrob Lincoln Greene hires her as his assistant for the summer.
He's gorgeous, completely unavailable, and unobtainable.
But that doesn't stop her from wondering...if things were different...would he want her?
If she was whole, would he be the other half?

Teaser...

"Just be careful. Make good choices. And if he takes off his pants, use the Taser."
"What if his pants are on fire?"
"Always Taser first---ask questionslater. That's like GirlScouts 101, sweetheart."

I read this a few days ago and really enjoyed it! So funny, so sweet, and seriously entertaining. I'll be posting a full review within the next week or so over on Bookish Lifestyle! :)

Those are our teasers for this week! What do you think? Do you have a teaser to share? Leave us a comment and link us up!
