Kiss of Snow (Psy-Changling, #10) by Nalini Singh ~ Review

Source:  Purchased audio

The hardcover debut of New York Times bestselling author Nalini Singh and her highly acclaimed Psy/Changeling novels.
Since the moment of her defection from the PsyNet and into the SnowDancer wolf pack, Sienna Lauren has had one weakness. Hawke. Alpha and dangerous, he compels her to madness.

Hawke is used to walking alone, having lost the woman who would've been his mate long ago. But Sienna fascinates the primal heart of him, even as he tells himself she is far too young to handle the wild fury of the wolf.

Then Sienna changes the rules-and suddenly, there is no more distance, only the most intimate of battles between two people who were never meant to meet. Yet as they strip away each other's secrets in a storm of raw emotion, they must also ready themselves for a far more vicious fight...

A deadly enemy is out to destroy SnowDancer, striking at everything they hold dear, but it is Sienna's darkest secret that may yet savage the pack that is her home-and the alpha who is its heartbeat.

Review...

My obsession continues.  I finally got to Hawk's book!

Hawk.  Alpha to the SnowDancer wolf pack and full of secrets.  Sienna.  Psy and full of unbridled power.  They are a dangerous combination.

Since the Lauren family defected, Hawk and Sienna have been at each others throats.  He doesn't know why she gets on his last nerve.  She follows everyones orders but his.  These two are so much fun to watch.  And their dance?  Long and full of emotions with some sexy hot times to be found...repeatedly.  After all, they have been resisting each other for a very long time.

This story was a two for one because we also get Walker and Lara's story.  Yes, they have a novella after this book but this is where it starts and where a lot of the walls come down.  I wasn't expecting that and it was a fun and happy surprise.

I cannot believe I am still so obsessed with this series so far into it.  You'd think I'd get bored with it after ten books and want something different but no.  Each individual story is powerful and complex but it also moves along the overarching world story.  And this one added punch to the conflict.  I can't wait to start the next one.

All of the characters make me happy.  As they turn up in each new story, it feels like I'm catching up with old friends.  A birth happens in this book and I was so excited about it.  So happy for the couple and for what it means to the pack.  I just love them all and am hungry for details of their lives.

Of course, the main event for this book was Hawk and Sienna.  And I wasn't sure they would make it.  Talk about "no way out" situations and no hope for a solution, this was it.  The one thing I was expecting to save them certainly didn't.  And if I had been reading instead of listening, I would have peeked to see if they did.  But that doesn't work very well with audiobooks so I just kept listening.

The title?  I was so excited when I finally understand why this one is named as it is.  Such a fun title.  Hehe.  Yep, gonna have to read it to find out why it's Kiss of Snow.

The world is complex and dynamic; that's why it can have so many stories and still entertain.  There is more to be told and one in particular that I can't wait to hear.   And I must know who the ghost is.  I have two guesses and with every clue, I doubt it can be either.  I must know.

The desire I have to keep reading and re-reading (I have actually listened to all of the books at least twice) is telling.  I read books all the time.  For one series to grab me as much as this one has speaks volumes as to how good it is.

While the books can stand alone, don't miss a single story.  Paranormal is my current favorite and this is some of the best paranormal romance there is to read.
