Welcome to a month long celebration!
What am I celebrating?
This!
Of course, there will be a HUGE giveaway to go along with it!
For every author that participates, I will add one of their books to the giveaway. Every book will have a winner! This will be BIG!
If You Leave (Beautifully Broken, #2) by Courtney Cole
26-year old Gabriel Vincent is a badass hero. Or he used to be, anyway. As an ex-Army Ranger, Gabe never thought he needed anyone. But after one horrible night in Afghanistan scars him in a way that he can't get past, he needs someone who can help him heal...even if he doesn't realize it.
25-year old Madison Hill doesn't need anybody...or so she thinks. She grew up watching her parents' messed-up abusive relationship and she knows there's no way in hell that she's ever letting that happen to her.
They don't know it in the beginning, but Gabriel and Madison will soon develop a weakness: Each other.
But Gabriel's got a secret, a hidden monster that he's afraid Maddy could never overcome... And Maddy's got issues that she's afraid Gabe will never understand. They quickly realize that they need each other to be whole, but at the same time they know that they've got demons to fight.
And the problem with demons is that they never die quietly.
Who've I got today?
Courtney Cole!
I’m celebrating
passing 700,000 page views on Stuck In Books and I’m so happy you’re here with
me for that.
I’m so happy for you! How exciting!!
Hope you don’t mind
me being silly with you for a bit. Gotta
have some fun, ya know. Does it make me
strange that I want to celebrate with authors?
It’s a bookish thing.
I love being silly, so you’re good. And noooooo! That doesn’t make you weird! Bookish people totally understand!
When you want to
celebrate something fabulous, what do you do?
Hmm. Depends on my mood. I either go shopping (my go-to drug of choice), go out to dinner (also my go-to drug of choice, but honestly, I eat out way too much) or I got have a mani/pedi.
My celebrating
beverage is Coke Zero. I know, I’m weird.
What’s your celebrating beverage of choice?
Uhhhh. Not Coke Zero. Lol. Mine contains alcohol. My drink of choice is a Long Island. But if I’m on a road trip (because every once in a while, I just crave a little road trip) then I have a Red Bull. I used to have them every day for breakfast until I decided that it was too unhealthy. Now I have them only on special occasions….
I tend to hang out at
parks with my one-year-old grandson for celebrations. Where is your celebration destination of
choice?
Hmm. This is a good question and it’s sweet that you hang out with your little grandson! I go out to eat on an everyday occurrence, so that’s not really special anymore, I guess. Although if it’s a nice celebration, I like to go to Ruth’s Chris. Oh, you know, if the celebration is huge, my favorite place to go is Disney World. I’m a big kid at heart- -and it’s my entire family’s favorite place.
I might get stuck in
a book to celebrate. Who am I kidding;
of course that’s how I celebrate.
(Buying a book is the best kind of celebration!) What was the last book
you got stuck in?
I am currently reading Rachel Van Dyken’s Elite. It’s the first book I’ve read by her and I’ve gotta say… she’s awesome.
New adult books have
become my new love. Do you have a genre
that you prefer to read or write over all others?
What a coincidence! I happen to write NA and that’s my favorite genre to write right now. It’s so fun--- I can get as gritty as I want without having to worry about toeing that YA line.
If you had to
re-write the three little pigs or the three bears into a new adult book, which
would you choose and how would you do it?
Oh my. You’re killing me. I would use three bears, but they would be figurative. They would be three Native American braves from the 1700’s and they each would have a different bear as a spirit animal. They’d be sexy and muscular and oiled and… and ahem. I’m getting carried away.
You’re building the
perfect ice cream sundae to share with one character from one of your
books. What’s on the sundae and who are
you sharing it with? Yeah – you need to explain your choice.
I would be sharing it with Jacey from IF YOU LEAVE. Mainly because she’s horrible with men and she won’t get her s@$t together until book three of the Beautifully Broken series, Before We Fall, which isn’t out yet. So for the present, she’s still struggling. My husband’s country club makes the best sundaes—they have homemade chocolate fudge ice cream, with homemade hot fudge and homemade whipped cream. I’d take her out there for one of those and we’d sit on the veranda and she’d commiserate over her guy problems. And I’d assure her that one of these days (because my pen is in control of her destiny) everything’s gonna be okay.
You have woke up in
the middle of one of your books but things aren’t unfolding as you
thought. Which character has sabotaged
the story and how will you convince them to fix it?
I adore these questions. I would wake up in the middle of Dante’s Girl, one of my contemporary YAs. Because the scenery is beautiful on the fictional island of Caberra. Elena, the resident mean girl would try and screw with my plot, but I’d fix her by hiding the tape that she uses to tape up her boobs. She wouldn’t want to come out of her house without her boobs taped up, so all would be good.
You know my good
news, what’s yours? (What’s the new
book/project you got going or any other thing you’d like to share with peeps).
Hmm. Book Two of the Beautifully Broken series, IF YOU LEAVE is out now and I’m hard at work on Before We Fall, book three. It will release December 3rd—and I’m super excited about it.Thank you so much for having me, Val. It’s always fun talking to you!
