Dark Eden by Patrick Carmen

I heard from Harper Collins to day and check this out!

SYNOPSIS:
Fifteen-year-old Will Besting is sent by his doctor to Fort Eden, an institution meant to help patients suffering from crippling phobias. Once there, Will and six other teenagers take turns in mysterious fear chambers and confront their worst nightmares—with the help of the group facilitator, Rainsford, an enigmatic guide. When the patients emerge from the chamber, they feel emboldened by the previous night's experiences. But each person soon discovers strange, unexplained aches and pains. What is really happening to the seven teens trapped in this dark Eden?

This book has an app!

DARK EDEN can be experienced in two ways. The series is enhanced by a downloadable app that enriches the elements of the traditional narrative through innovative story artifacts including still images, audio recordings, videos, scans, and text entries. For a complete explanation of how the app experience works, check out this video from author Patrick Carman. The DARK EDEN app is available now on the iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch and all Android enabled devices.

And a trailer...

Can't wait to check this one out.  Available November 1, 2011.

  1. I always wonder how these interactive apps and things would work while reading a book. I have a short enough attention span and I think I'd probably lose interest but it's still an interesting way of getting readers interested!

Download it on your phone, tablet or computer and get immersed in the story! Experience the first episode online here: http://enterdarkeden.com/try-episode-one/ Then download the free app in all app stores: keywords "dark eden"

  5. This is probably the awesomest concept for a book I've seen. Telling the story through a book is great, telling the story through an app packed full of videos and pictures and maps is even better. Patrick Carman amazed people of all ages across the United States with Skeleton Creek, the book with videos to accompany it, but Dark Eden is quickly taking Skeleton Creek's place as the best book he has written.
