Who needs mistletoe?

Most people wouldn’t think of a bad Santa case as the perfect Christmas gift. Then again, Molly Malone, office manager at Hunt Investigations, isn’t most people, and she could really use a distraction from the fantasies she’s been having since spending the night with her very secret crush, Lucas Knight. Nothing happened, not that Lucas knows that—but Molly just wants to enjoy being a little naughty for once . . .

Whiskey and pain meds for almost-healed bullet wounds don’t mix. Lucas needs to remember that next time he’s shot on the job, which may be sooner rather than later if Molly’s brother, Joe, finds out about them. Lucas can’t believe he’s drawing a blank on his (supposedly) passionate tryst with Molly, who’s the hottest, smartest, strongest woman he’s ever known. Strong enough to kick his butt if she discovers he’s been assigned to babysit her on her first case. And hot enough to melt his cold heart this Christmas . . .

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Jill Shalvis writes warm, funny, sexy contemporary romances and women’s fiction. An Amazon, BN & iBooks bestseller, she’s also a two-time RITA winner and has more than 10 million copies of her books sold worldwide.

I've really enjoyed this series.  The author does a great job of creating a small town feel in a small community inside a big city.  These friends care about each other and you see them interfering with each others lifes all the time.  It's an enjoyable read.

I loved the beginning of this book.  So entertaining.  The morning after.  Oh, we didn't go there, did we?  Ha.  A little more complicated than that but I snickered a lot.  It was a great way to start a good story.

These two are both fighting this relationship with everything in them.   There is serious chemistry between them but neither of them think they are relationship kinda people.  Besides they work together and Lucas doesn't want Molly bother to kill him.  So, yeah, they're fighting the chemistry.

There's more suspense in this book than the others in this series.  With both of them working for the security firm, it's clear why that would be.  I enjoyed it.  I like having something going on besides the romance.  It definitely had me turning the pages.

I did read this quickly.  It's the kind of story that sucks you in and holds you in it's pages.  I wanted to know what was going on and I wanted to know how these two would finally decide they were meant for each other.

This is a great addition to a great series.  It can easily be read stand alone as well.
