Attended an author signing...
I got to hear Rick Riordan speak and got TWO signed copies of the last book in The Heroes of Olympus series. It was very exciting and interesting. I learned a lot about this man. His first rejection letter came when he was 13 and it still hangs in his mothers house. The first books he published were adult titles. His dyslectic son love mythology and insisted his English teacher father tell him the stories at night. When Rick ran out of stories, his son insisted he make on up. That story was The Lightening Thief. The first edition had a different (and terrible) cover. It didn't do very well. When they gave it a new cover, it picked up and the rest is history.

I read Make it Right this week. I think I still liked the first book better but it was good.

Gone Girl was really good. It was slow at the beginning but it picked up half way through the book.
