Swoon Thursday ~ 4/2/15

The fabulous girls over at YA Bound created this super HOT meme.  Here's how it works.

From the book you’re currently reading, or one you just finished, tell us what made you SWOON. What got your heart pounding, your skin tingling, and your stomach fluttering.

Shout it out on Twitter with the hashtag #YABound, post it here in the comments, or grab the adorable button above and share it on your blog! I want to know & so do the chicks at YABound!

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Cora Carmack follows up her trio of hits—Losing It, Faking It, and Finding It—with this thrilling first novel in an explosive series bursting with the Texas flavor, edge, and steamy romance of Friday Night Lights.

In Texas, two things are cherished above all else—football and gossip. My life has always been ruled by both.

Dallas Cole loathes football. That's what happens when you spend your whole childhood coming in second to a sport. College is her time to step out of the bleachers, and put the playing field (and the players) in her past.

But life doesn't always go as planned. As if going to the same college as her football star ex wasn’t bad enough, her father, a Texas high school coaching phenom, has decided to make the jump to college ball… as the new head coach at Rusk University. Dallas finds herself in the shadows of her father and football all over again.

Carson McClain is determined to go from second-string quarterback to the starting line-up. He needs the scholarship and the future that football provides. But when a beautiful redhead literally falls into his life, his focus is more than tested. It's obliterated.

Dallas doesn't know Carson is on the team. Carson doesn't know that Dallas is his new coach's daughter.

And neither of them know how to walk away from the attraction they feel.

So I've read this one before and you can check out my review here.  But I recently started listening to the audiobook.   I have a habit of listening to book I loved.  This series has been on my mind because I'm excited for book three,  All Played Out, coming out 5/12.

Anyway, I was really glad I picked this one to re-read as audio.  Why?  Two reasons.  The audio ROCKS.  The narrators have these voices down! Loved that.  And two, I love Cora's writing.  Here's one reason I do.

As soon as she closes the door, I push her against it and crash my mouth to hers.  Her fingers thread through my hair, gripping it tight, and we're on the same page in seconds.
These are no soft kisses.

We touch lips and tongue and teeth.  When she pulls on my hair and moans, I take that as my permission to be a little rough.  I lift her up by the hips, and she wraps her impossibly long legs around me, squeezing me between them.  I slide my hands around to cup her backside, and she arches out from the door.  (Page 184)

Yeah, that.  That's all you get.  Love Carson.  I forgot how much.  I'm gonna finish this audio and then go right to All Broke Down.  And I have All Played Out audio pre-ordered.  It's gonna happen just like that.  So good.

Have you read this series?  It's definitely worth a re-read.
