Dragon King (Dark Kings, #6.5) by Donna Grant ~ Review

A Woman on a Mission

Grace Clark has always done things safe. She's never colored outside of the law, but she has a book due and has found the perfect spot to break through her writer's block. Or so she thinks. Right up until Arian suddenly appears and tries to force her away from the mountain. Unaware of the war she just stumbled into, Grace doesn't just discover the perfect place to write, she finds Arian—the most gorgeous, enticing, mysterious man she's ever met.

A King with a Purpose

Arian is a Dragon King who has slept away centuries in his cave. Recently woken, he's about to leave his mountain to join his brethren in a war when he's alerted that someone has crossed onto Dreagan. He's ready to fight . . . until he sees the woman. She's innocent and mortal—and she sets his blood aflame. He recognizes the danger approaching her just as the dragon within him demands he claim her for his own...

The beginning of this books is perfection!  I adore when the main character in a book is an author trying to break their writers block.  That's Grace.  She's lost her muse and is past her deadline for her new novel.  Since her book is set in Scotland, she travels there to get inspired.  She drives about to find a place to write and ends up in a cave off a Glenn and there she has her first success in months.  Ha, too bad a naked man interrupts her!

Poor Arian.  He's just woke up from a very long sleep to find a women in his cave.  A cave she shouldn't be able to see.  Is she working with the dark?  Why does he want to protect her?  Can she be telling the truth about how she found this place?  Why does he want to keep her near him?  All very good questions.

This book was sexy and fun.  The story was only about Grace and Arian.  It was nice to just be focused on the couple and not all the other aspects of this story.  While some of the characters I'm used to were around, the overarching story didn't come into play.  I loved that because it just had me thinking about these two.

This series is the good stuff that paranormal romance is made out of.  Don't miss it.
