Falling For The Groomsman by Jen McLaughlin ~ Review & Giveaway

Book 2 but can be read stand alone!

A sexy category romance from Entangled’s Brazen imprint…

She’s the one that got away. He’s the one she can’t forget.

Photojournalist Christine Forsythe is ready to tackle her naughty little to-do list, and who better to tap for the job than a hot groomsman? But when she crashes into her best friend’s older brother, Christine realizes her list needs updating. And fast. Tyler Dresco took her virginity during the best night of her life, then bolted. Now that they’re trapped together at a destination wedding, she’s going to get her revenge.

Tyler has never forgiven himself for how completely he lost control all those years ago. Being in Christine’s arms had felt right…until he realized what he’d taken from her in the hallway of a cheap motel. And oh, how she’s making him pay for it now. The insatiable heat between them has only grown stronger, but every time things heat up, Christine walks away.

With every encounter, things go a little bit further until Christine’s caught in her own trap of seduction. And before their time’s up, Tyler’s not the only one wanting more…

My Thoughts:

4 stars - So love Tyler and his persistence to get the girl!

As I stated in a review of another book in this series, I love the concept of the wedding dare. I was particularly drawn to the idea of four different authors writing it. It’s a very interesting idea. The flavor of each book is slightly different because of that and it reflects the character of the couple in the story.

In this book, Christine and Tyler have a second chance at love. They knew each other eight years ago when Tyler took Christine’s virginity and then bailed. She’s devastated by that and he’s guilt ridden. So when they run into each other, quite literally, and the intense feelings return, they are both trying to figure it out.

Christine upset me at first. She’s thinking revenge and I’m not liking it. But when that doesn’t feel good to her anymore, I began to like her. She’s been hurt and she’s trying to figure out her feelings. Her brain says one thing and her body another. There’s no doubt that her body is winning. The heat between these two is combustible.

Tyler is a helper. He loves to help and heal people and certainly guided his becoming a doctor. He’s always tried to protect and help. The only time he’s ever let that go was that night in Mexico with Christine. But he’s married to his job so really this can’t work, right? Keep telling yourself that, Tyler.

I really enjoyed the wedding setting. Seeing little pieces of what’s going on with the other couples is interesting too. I haven’t read about Julie and the brooding Reed yet but I want to. Something is definitely up with those two.

I think this one can certainly been read stand alone but why miss the fun of this series. It’s a brilliant idea and super hot. Don’t miss it.
