Beautiful Lawman by Sophie Jordan ~ Review

From the wrong side of the tracks and with most of her family in jail or dead, Piper Walsh is used to everyone in town thinking the worst about her. It doesn’t seem to matter that she’s worked hard to build a good life for herself. So she isn’t surprised that when she comes into contact with Sweet Hill’s wildly irresistible, arrogant sheriff, Hale Walters, they’re instant adversaries. Piper has nothing in common with the town golden-boy-turned-lawman—and she refuses to be a notch on his bedpost.

Despite rumors, Hale avoids fooling around with the women of Sweet Hill, many of whom are hoping to get him to the altar. But staying out of Piper’s path is proving near impossible. The infuriating troublemaker clearly has no respect for his badge. As she continues to push his buttons, it becomes clear to Hale that he must either arrest Piper—or claim her as his own.

This story is about misconceptions and drawing the wrong conclusions from that confusion.  And the very best part of this story?  The resisting each other all the while!

I adore this author.  She crafts incredible characters that feel like friends you care what happens to.  She weaves interesting stories that take turns you don't expect.  She draws the story to a close with a satisfying ending that ties up the loose ends.  When one of her books releases, it needs to needs to be on your TBR list.

Piper.  She's been holding things together in her family for a while now.  Taking custody of her sister at age 18, she does what she has to do to keep a roof over their head and food on the table.  But she has a line she hasn't crossed.  And she doesn't defend herself to anyone that doesn't get her.  Her family name is mud and she isn't gonna argue with those that don't get things. She's strong and hard working.  She loves her sister and her brother.  She sets aside her dreams for the dreams of her sister.  I love her.  I cheered for her.  I ended up being, oh so, happy for her.

Hale thinks he knows Piper.  He doesn't.  But he's a good man at heart and when it came down to doing the right thing, he did it.  Every women in a 50 mile radius is after him.  They bring him cake.  They hope for his attention.  But there is only one women that keeps drawing his attention.  But he can't let himself be tempted.  Yeah, good luck with that.  I love Hale too.  He's a worthy book boyfriend.

This one definitely needs to find it's way to your TBR list and devoured as soon as you can.  Just good stuff.
