Swoon Thursday ~ 4/5/18

Who doesn't LOVE a good swoon?!  We love them for sure!  Check out our swoon below and then add to the fun.

Post anything that made you swoon, past or present read.  Include the cover, blurb and links.  Please no spoilers.

He was lost and alone. Then he found her.
And the future seemed more fragile than ever.

As a child, Landon Lucas Maxfield believed his life was perfect and looked forward to a future filled with promise — until tragedy tore his family apart and made him doubt everything he ever believed.

All he wanted was to leave the past behind. When he met Jacqueline Wallace, his desire to be everything she needed came so easy…

As easy as it could be for a man who learned that the soul is breakable and that everything you hoped for could be ripped away in a heartbeat.

Swoon...

I’m fine. I’m good. But I wasn’t fine. I was anything but fine. That night had shattered me. I’d walled myself in to keep from breaking further, but no defense will protect you from every possible pain. I was still just as breakable as everyone else – the girl in my arms included. But I could hope. And I could love. And maybe, I could heal.

I put my finger to her soft, full mouth, stilling her words. "I don't want you to feel pressured. Or overpowered." Even in the midst of my duplicity, I meant the words, needing her to trust me. I also wanted to kiss her more than I wanted the next breath.
"I do, absolutely, want to kiss you right now. Badly."
I was the more fearful one, because I knew she'd say no.  I would prove to her that I could be trusted by leaving.  I trailed one finger from her lips to her throat, down the center of her chest and waitied for her no.

You know I had to reread this one after I reread Easy.  I adore Lucas.  He's one of my all time favorite book boyfriends.  And I'll admit that I love this story more from his point of view than I did Easy, from Jacqueline's.  I loved them both but there was just more Lucas in his.  Have you read these books?  You so should.

That's our swoon this week!  What about you?  Leave us a comment & a link.

  1. So agree with you! I loved Easy but there was just that something extra about Breakable that I adored. Great swoon!
