Honor student, manager at the campus coffee shop, owner of an impressive sweater collection – Melanie Wilder has it all together. Then John “John Boy” Walden strolls into her life wearing nothing more than an impish grin and all-too-revealing loin cloth.
Soon, make-out sessions replace homework, lust triumphs over work. And to further crumble her perfect world, an unexpected phone call threatens to take away everything she’s worked for.
Now, as Melanie struggles to pick up the pieces, she realizes that John may be the only one to put her life back together…unless he shatters it first.
Their differences threaten to tear them apart, unless they can make one another their only exception.

I'd like to welcome Melanie
Wilder to StuckInBooks.
Hey Melanie! Thanks
for hanging with me today.
Thanks for having me. *does a stupid wave, realizes she looks
like an idiot and stops*
So I hear you
are/were an honor student. Are you more
the science/math type or the reading/writing type?
Well, I’m an English major, so there is that. Though I’m pretty good at
math. In all reality I probably should have picked a major with better job
prospects.
Talking to a math major, here. Do what you love. And about this
sweater collection – what’s up with that?
I like sweaters. They’re comfy. They’re warm. They never let you down. They
always call. They don’t talk to sorority girls that flirt with them on the
quad... Wait, what was I talking about again?
Um...thought it was sweaters but it sounded more like... Never mind. Before John, you
seem to have kept guys in perspective.
What was it about him that changed that?
Besides how good he looked in a loincloth? Okay, so really it was the
fact that he made me feel special. Like I wasn’t just a faceless girl in the
crowd. For the first time I felt like I was a hottie that deserved the
attention of a guy in a loincloth.
Loincloth, huh? Might need to meet this John. Tell me about the
first time you met John.
He spilled a
drink on me and then asked me to take my sweater off. Literally. Well, he said
it better. The guy has a way of making everything sound sexual. He had me on
the toes from the moment I met him and has never stopped.
Describe John in 5
words.
Loyal. Sensual. Romantic. Caring. Dependable.
Sensual? Liking the sound of that. Describe the
perfect date with John.
Some of the best
dates I’ve had with him have involved sitting on my couch after he’s made us
dinner and watching Harry Potter. Okay then after that it gets a little X rated
so I’ll stop t here.
A little x rated? *sigh* Tell me something
about John that we don’t learn from the book.
Hmmm... *taps finger on her lips*
What can I say about John? Well there is...
*John saunters in
the interview* Don’t even think about it, Red.
*Pouts* You don’t
even know what I was going to say. It could have been something really sweet
and loving and all of that jazz.
*John raises an
eyebrow* Or you could tell people that I still wear the loincloth
*Melanie raises her
eyebrows to counter* Or that you know all the words to “Everybody” by the
Backstreet Boys?
*John nods* Yeah,
but don’t people realize that in the book.
*Melanie shakes her
head* They don’t know what song it is...
*A small smile
crosses John’s lips* Or that “I need your love” by Calvin Harris and Ellie
Goulding was playing when we were at Gatsby’s and I made you...
*Melanie puts her
hand up* Okay, we’re done here.
*Staring at John picturing him in that loin cloth* *Shakes head* Okay. Tell me something
about you that we don’t learn from the book.
*John starts to say
something, but Melanie cuts him off* I
had another college hook up before John.
*John crosses his
arms over his chest* Oh, really?
We didn’t sleep together! Just some under the sweater action. He wore strappy sandals and had way too much shit in his pockets. That was a mood ruiner right there.

Yeah, don't need any more info there. If you could have
one wish, no questions asked, what would it be and why?
That there be no more disease in the world. Any kind. From Cancer to
STDs.
Oh she has the Miss America answer down. Nice. Anything else you
would like my readers to know?
This book is steamy and heartbreaking all at the same time. You
don’t need to read The Only Exception to enjoy this companion novel. We do show
up in The Only Exception, but you really get our story in this one and it
stands alone separate from the first novel.
Randomness:
M&M or
skittles? M&Ms
Burger or steak? Steak
burger!
Mountains or ocean?
Hmmmm...let’s go with Ocean.
Day or night? Day.
(I’m a caffeine addict)
Brown or Blue eyes?
Blue (like John’s)
Blond or brown
hair? Brown hair
MP3 or streaming? mp3
DVD or movie
theater? DVD
Thanks for talking to
me. Can’t wait to read your book.
Thanks for having us. Sorry about John.
*John grins* You know you love it.
John is welcome on my blog any time.

ReplyDeleteI love the character interview. I bought this when it was on sale when it first came out. I am looking forward to getting the time to read it.
ReplyDeleteI love the colours they used on the cover :)
ReplyDeleteThis is a great interview. I especially liked when John came in. ;) Oh, and English major here, so I loved her saying she should have picked a major with better job prospects. :)
ReplyDeleteLove it. On my tbr. what a great giveaway. Thank you
ReplyDeleteAwesome interview!! I haven't read the first book, so I never really paid much attention to this. Knowing I don't need to read the first one is a good thing. I definitely want to read them both though.
ReplyDeleteI bought this one a while back. Looks good.
