As soon as Cookiesaurus Rex comes out of the oven, he declares that he is King of All Cookies. He should be frosted before all of the standard-shaped cookies, in a nice bright green. But the other cookies are getting sprinkles, or shiny stars, or even gumdrops . . . WAIT ONE STINKIN' STOMPIN' MINUTE! Cookiesaurus wants a do-over. Problem is, he might not end up with the kind of "do" he wants. Readers will love the funny back-and-forth between this cheeky cookie and the hand that frosts him. See who gets his licks in at the end!
Charming and fun, I'm definitely picking this one up from my grandkids. I love how take charge Rex is and how he learns. It's a fun book.

Rex Playlist Author Guest Post

When you’re talking about a
dinosaur cookie, frosting comes to mind.
But music?
You wouldn’t think a cookie
would inspire a song list, but Cookiesaurus Rex isn’t your average doughboy.
He’s the King of All Cookies and to be honest, he’s just a little bit full of
himself. He would love everyone to
sing his praises.
Here’s a Cookie Playlist we
think Cookiesaurus would approve of:
First on his list would be a
song about his favorite topic. Cookiesaurus is not concerned with hunting,
erupting volcanoes, meteors, or extinction. He cares about one thing:
I Wanna Talk About Me
Next, Cookie would want a song
that reflects his sense of style. He’s a dashing dresser with an extensive
wardrobe of decorations. He likes looking his best and can often be heard
singing this song to himself while preening in front of the mirror:
I'm Too Sexy
He’s not the only cookie on the
baking sheet. (Though he would tell you he’s the only cookie that matters.) He
takes pride in looking better than all the others. And just like a rap star, Cookie would defend
his look and his title of King of All Cookies:
Can't Touch This
Yes, this is our Cookie. He is
the center of the world. The glow of the galaxy. The brightest star in the
cookie universe. He brings the stellar to interstellar. It’s no wonder he
thinks everything is about him—even this blog.
You're So Vain
Finally, for Nate and I
who spent a lot of hours laughing ourselves to tears at the local Starbucks as
we wrote his stories, we have a different sort of song when we think of Cookiesaurus.
One that brings us back to the original dream Nate had about a dinosaur cookie.
One that reminds us of the afternoons when Cookie was shaped and molded into
the character he is today.
Pure Imagination
Whatever songs Cookiesurus brings to mind, we hope you have as much fun
reading our book as we had writing it.
