I've never once strayed from my path – not even when the future seemed uncertain. However, Maeve's intelligence, cunning and determination challenges me in ways I never imagined. Finding out what she knows is the key to learning how to conquer our enemy. The Dark Fae breathes new life into me unlike anything I've ever know. For Maeve, I will risk trusting the Dark. I have really enjoyed the Reapers series, this whole dark world really.  I'm finally caught up on the series' and was so excited for this new book.

Reapers have recently been allowed relationships by Death.  All of those women have been halflings or become reapers themselves.  This book marks a first.  Maeve is a Dark Fae.  Add to that Bradach's dislike of all things dark and things get interesting fast.

I admit that I'm excited for the next Dark Kings book.  I'm really hoping that we see the end of the light Queen.  I'm seriously over that Fae.  But this book had a lot of pre-work towards that end.  Bradach was challenged with finding Xaneth.  They expect that Usaeil has him, which she does.  No real spoiler there.

But things are not as they seem.  No spoilers there at all.  I will say that I was surprised by the betrayal and happy about what wasn't true about Maeve.  This book definitely had some unexpected in it and I really enjoy when that happens.

I love the world this series is part of.  I've enjoyed it so much that I went back and read all the previous series'.  It's such a rich world with the possibility of so many new stores.  I just can't wait for more.

As always, I loved the characters.  It's nice seeing the Reaper's that I know.  I enjoy seeing Death and the Dragon Kings.  I just love being around these characters.  And I'm hoping things work out for them all.

This story can stand on it's own though I will warn you that you will want to go back and read more.

Good stuff.  Don't miss it.
