The Mortal
Enchantment series is Complete
I have mixed feelings about completing the series. The
positive is that I’m proud of myself. It was quite an accomplishment. Writing a
series is very difficult, especially in fantasy. I created my own world that existed
within the one we live in. I invented magical creatures that had their own set
of rules and powers. It was a lot of detail to keep track of, and it certainly
wasn’t easy to write. Once you get to books three and four, it’s a struggle to
not repeat yourself. Plus, you have to follow all the storyline threads that
you set up. But once it was all over, I did a little happy dance. I’m very
pleased with how everything turned out. I feel like I wrote the story I wanted.
The negative is that I already miss
the characters. Although it took me only two years to publish the entire series,
I had these characters in my head for eight years. I’ve gotten to know them so
well that they feel like they are part of me. And now that their adventure is
over, I can’t help feeling sad. I’m also going to miss the interaction with
readers and bloggers excited to read the next book. I’ve received so many
incredible emails, tweets, and facebook posts. I cherish every single one of
them. Not to mention the people I’ve met at conventions. I think I was more
excited to meet them than they were to meet me. :D
I can only hope that they will stick
with me throughout my writing career. They make all the sleepless nights and
missed weekend fun worth it. <3
Eternal Sacrifice
The explosive conclusion to Stacey O'Neale's
award-winning Mortal Enchantment series reveals the secrets of the fantasy
world!
Valac has stolen two of the sacred objects. In a bid to rule all four courts, he has threatened to use Excalibur to cut the mist that protects Avalon--ultimately ending the lives of thousands of elementals. As the Akasha, Kalin has the power to stop him. And she refuses to lose anyone else she loves.
Will she have to sacrifice herself to save them?
Desperate to save Kalin's life, Rowan searches for the long-lost creator of the mist. But what he finds is the very last thing he expected. Everything he thought he knew about his past is turned upside down, and he questions whether he's meant to be the savior or the elemental that destroys them all.
Told from Kalin, Rowan, and Marcus's perspective, the final installment to the series follows their journey of courage, duty, sacrifice, and love.
