When Seraphina was younger, she healed her best friend's injured hand. Terrified by the inexplicable cure, the girl shunned her. From that day on, Seraphina found herself without friends, a freak and an oddity. And so she obeyed her mother’s rule to refrain from using her innate ability, heeded her mother's warning that its use could land her in the local mental health facility alongside her aunt and grandmother.
But when sixteen-year-old Seraphina finds a mysterious, wounded boy hiding in the hollow in the woods behind her house, she can't hold out against the overpowering urge to help him. She is drawn to him each night, and as they come to know one another, their irresistible attraction blooms.
She longs to uncover his secrets — where he comes from and why he's hiding and how he came to be so wounded — and to share her own, though she knows it's forbidden. And while her healing touch seems to be helping him, it's hurting her. When the symptoms of psychosis — experienced by the women in her bloodline who used their powers — begin to plague Seraphina, she is faced with the unbearable choice of saving her sanity or the boy she’s come to love.

Would flying count? If so, that would totally be my supernatural ability, haha! :))
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the giveaway!
This cover is really pretty. It sounds good too. If I could have a supernatural ability I would want to be able to freeze time. That would be awesome!!
ReplyDeleteHmm, I would have to say I want to be able to teleport
ReplyDeleteThat cover is gorgeous!! And I enjoyed the excerpt, too. Thanks for sharing, Pal!
ReplyDeleteDon´t know something really cool... Freeze anybody around me?? :D

ReplyDeleteI changed my mind: Teleportation. To visit friends and family whenever I wanted
ReplyDeleteI'm actually sticking to the character's ability: healing. I would love the ability to heal. :)
ReplyDeleteTelepathy might be fun :D but the ability to heal would be epic as well
ReplyDeleteInvisibility...or the ability to keep mymouth closed lol
ReplyDeleteThis book sounds amazing! And the cover is beautiful! Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI would want the ability to calm and make people happy--there's too much anger, hatred, intolerance, racism, and disrespect in the world. Too much bullying and suicide:(
ReplyDeletecc_clubbs[at]yahoo[dot]com
I would have to choose telepathy or teleportation - probably teleporation!
ReplyDeleteProbably to control the four elements: earth, wind, fire, and water.I'd make good use of it and help the world.
ReplyDeleteThat's such a gorgeous cover!! I've always liked pictures that have that over-exposed kind of look from when the sun is captured full on. (That was a TERRIBLE way to express it!! There's probably a name for it, but I know next to nothing about photography, sorry!) And the book sounds really good. Thanks to the author for giving away 3 copies!
ReplyDeleteI would also want the ability to heal, just like Seraphina. Not really to bring someone back from the dead after they've been gone a while, cause I think that too much "happens" to a person when they die that would make it not so great... but the ability to heal my loved ones who are sick or hurt?? Yeah, I'd take that any day.
Healing would be awesome. Flying would be cool too!
ReplyDeleteLove that cover, and I have no idea what kind of supernatural ability I would like to have.. mmhmm... maybe teleporation or telekinesis. Yeah, I like those two.. Can I have two abilities???
ReplyDeleteI don't know if I could choose. Healing would be awesome - especially if I'd be able to heal everything (cancer, genetic problems, etc). Teleportation would be nice, too. Thanks for the giveaway. Hell's Hollow sounds good. :)
ReplyDeleteIf i could have a supernatural ability it would be to transport myself from one place to another. Thank you for the giveaway Vicki
ReplyDeleteI would actually want healing ability too! That would be amazing! Definitely would want to be a doctor than:D
ReplyDeleteI'm going to say invisibility.

ReplyDeleteI'd like to be able to manipulate time.

What a lovely story. Can't wait to read it. This might sound odd, but I would want to take away someone's emotional pain. I don't want them to be impervious to emotional suffering, but I want to be able to ease it and help them through it almost instantly, if possible. I want them to remember the pain, understand it, but I want it to be over. I can't stand to see people suffering emotional anguish. I think emotional wounds take much longer to heal than physical ones.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the opportunity.

Would fulfilling wishes count? I really would want that cause I have lots of wishes... =)
ReplyDeleteThank you for the chance!!!
Healing is a good one. I wouldn't mind having that one.
ReplyDeleteMind-reading, seeing the future, and teleportation also come to mind.
I'd TOTALLY take the ability to heal. I play a healer in World of Warcraft and it's what I love to do in that game! Plus, my mom has spinal stenosis and could really use a miracle cure. I suppose if it weren't healing, it'd be teleportation and the ability to teleport others. That'd be awesome. :D
ReplyDeleteAbove anything, I'd absolutely ADORE having the ability to fly. To have that sort of freedom would be mind-blowing.
ReplyDeleteI would choose telekinesis.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway
The ability to put everyone at ease
ReplyDeleteI think I would love to be able to teleport. This sounds like a great read. Thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteHealing would be a good supernatural power. I also think Mental telepathy would be one I would like.
ReplyDeleteHealing is great one...I would want the ability be a conscience for those making bad decisions
ReplyDeleteI used to think all the invisibility, flying, telepathy, telekinesis would be cool. Now, as a mother and auntie, I think healing would be great. That way I would always be able to make sure my family was okay. =) Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI think healing or being able to be invisible would be amazing!
ReplyDeleteJolene A
It's so hard to pick just one supernatural ability! I think I'd have to go with telekinesis. I think that one would come in pretty handy. Housework would take no time at all!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to be able to shape-shift. But not into an animal but into other people. Not to impersonate but to be able to change my appearance into whatever I feel like... That will be just awesome!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the great giveaway!
ability to control time
ReplyDeleteHealing would be a very good power to have, either healing or the ability to take away pain even if healing wasn't possible. However, I think if I could go way out on a limb and just have one for the fun of it, a just because power instead of a serious one, I think it would be funny to be able to do the whole "Jedi mind trick" thing. I would never ever use it for bad things (at least now that I'm older, it would have been a bad thing to have in youth!!) but, well, honestly it might be kind of fun to play around with a power like that :|
ReplyDeleteThank you for the giveaway and the entry chance. Have a good week everyone.

My supernatural ability would be to read people's minds; I would love to know what people are thinking about me.
ReplyDeleteI would love to read people's minds. Then, if they have any troubles, I'd know the best way to help them.
ReplyDeleteTeleport or healing would be awesome, Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI think healing would be a wondrous gift, but for fun I would love telekinesis - just think of the fun it I could have cleaning the house ;=D
ReplyDeleteI'd love to be able to teleport or maybe have telekinesis. Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI would like to be able to travel back in time.
ReplyDeleteI want to read minds so I can know what others are thinking
ReplyDeleteI would love to read minds or fly!
ReplyDeleteThanks,
Leanne
I'd love to read minds or freeze the time but flying would be cool, too. :-)
ReplyDeleteI would heal also. My father has Cancer, my son now 5 almost died at 9 months and my mom almost died last year of a heart attack (she now has a new heart) It would be nice to feel like you could do something to help others that had issues like theirs.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway
