Dragon Burn by Donna Grant ~ Review

Source:  Received an eBook ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review.

In this scorching Dark Kings novella, New York Times bestselling author Donna Grant brings together a determined Dragon King used to getting what he wants and an Ice Queen who thaws for no one.

Marked by passion

A promise made eons ago sends Sebastian to Italy on the hunt to find an enemy. His quarry proves difficult to locate, but there is someone who can point him in the right direction – a woman as frigid as the north. Using every seductive skill he’s acquired over his immortal life, his seduction begins. Until he discovers that the passion he stirs within her makes him burn for more…

Gianna Santini has one love in her life – work. A disastrous failed marriage was evidence enough to realize she was better off on her own. That is until a handsome Scot strolled into her life and literally swept her off her feet. She is unprepared for the blazing passion between them or the truth he exposes. But as her world begins to unravel, she realizes the only one she can depend on is the very one destroying everything - a Dragon King.

I love the name Sebastian and I'm in a HUGE paranormal mood lately.  It 's all I want to read.

That said, I loved this book.  No, I hadn't read anything from this series beforehand.  But I've since fixed that oversight.  I've devoured the group of novellas called Dark Heat and book one, Darkest Flame.  I've bought the first 5 books and will be devouring them in order.  That's what this book did to me.

Okay, I love dragons.  I love strong women who bring strong men to their knees.  I love how those strong men are super protective and how adorable they are as they figure out they've lost their heart.  Add to that all the paranormal stuff and I'm hooked.

I NEEDED the back story.  What is going on in this world where dragons are not know but actually belonged here before humans.  Why are they fighting another dragon?  Why do they protect humans?  Why do they hide who they are?

The characters are well written with lots of depth.  Sebastian is determined to help an old friend that he feels he let down.  He goes against his king to try to gain information only to fall for the love of a woman.  Gianna is doing her own kind of hiding after a bad divorce.  Sebastian brings her back to herself.  They are right for each other.

The story is fast paced and full of yummy moments.  It's also full of danger and mysteries that the Kings have been facing and still need to figure out.  It definitely had me wanting more.

If you haven't fallen into this series yet and you enjoy the paranormal side of romance, then get on this series and quick!
