But when an international crisis throws them together 24/7, intriguingly buttoned-up Brianna reveals a sensual hunger that rivals his own, and he realizes just what he's been denying himself for so long. But when his perfect PA's secret is discovered, will he pay the price for taking what he wants?

Follow the money…into bed!
Estranged from his adoptive father, Sage Lassiter earned his own billions. But when J.D. Lassiter leaves a fortune to his private nurse in his will and cheats his own daughter of her rightful inheritance…Sage is enraged, to say the least. He's sure nurse Colleen Falkner isn't the innocent she appears. And he's willing to go to any lengths to expose her…even seduction.
But using sex—crazed, incredible sex—to find out what she knows could backfire. Because Colleen is not what Sage expected. And like it or not, she's about to demolish all the barriers he's carefully constructed around his heart.

My Thoughts:
3 1/2 stars - Fast and yummy
First Impressions...
Love the cover. Love the idea of the seduction leading somewhere besides answers. The Characters...
This is the first book in the series but I found a free prequel novella after I read this one. I'm headed back to read it. Why? The characters. This story revolves around some great characters.I love Sage. What an awesome name for a hot guy. He's still aching from some history with his adopted father and the girl he thought he loved once. Makes him a bit of hermit, refusing to do more than the one-night stand. But gorgeous and his heart is not as closed off as he thought it was so it was fun watching him get over those issues.
Colleen is sweet and genuine. She sees the best in people. I liked her. She wasn't some jerk that needed to be fixed. She was patient and kind. She overlooked some of Sage's growley nature understanding him better than he wanted her to. I like that. She was willing to take risks but she was still sweet. It was a great combination.
I love the rest of the family and need to read their stories. There is still the questions surrounding the will that Sage's father left and I want to know those answers.
The Story...
This book is 188 pages. It's pretty short for me. Most books I read are closer to 300 pages. I think that may be the only real issues I had. I wanted a little more. More of the week these two spent together. Their first date was there but the second and third were just a passing line.Could I Put It Down...
Why would I put this down? I read it in a few hours. No need to. But I do want more. I picked up the free prequel novella and I'll be watching for the rest of the series to become available. In The End...
If you love that afternoon delight kinda book where the read is fast, the sexy is yummy and the angst is short lived, then you need to pick this one up.

ReplyDeleteAll of them! I really enjoy HQN books because it is hard to imagine these guys who can't find love and then you read abut these average guys ... they just have extraordinary amounts of money ... and in the end they want what everyone else does. They are a lot of fun to read about. :) Blake's title says it all "What the Greek's Money Can't Buy". LOL
ReplyDeleteOh! I have Beauty and the Best Man! Maybe I'll get to it sooner rather than later, since you liked these characters so much.
