Banned Books Week Giveaway Hop

I'm often SHOCKED by what books I find on the challenged list.  Like this one...

Not liking a book or choosing to avoid the elements of it is not the same as trying to keep others from reading it.  That is all kinds of wrong. IMO

I'm giving away a great book that I really enjoyed.  I learned it had been challenged when I met the author a few years ago.

"Don’t worry, Anna. I’ll tell her, okay? Just let me think about the best way to do it."
"Promise me? Promise you won’t say anything?"
"Don’t worry.” I laughed. “It’s our secret, right?"

According to Anna’s best friend, Frankie, twenty days in Zanzibar Bay is the perfect opportunity to have a summer fling, and if they meet one boy every day, there’s a pretty good chance Anna will find her first summer romance. Anna lightheartedly agrees to the game, but there’s something she hasn’t told Frankie–she’s already had her romance, and it was with Frankie’s older brother, Matt, just before his tragic death one year ago.

TWENTY BOY SUMMER explores what it truly means to love someone, what it means to grieve, and ultimately, how to make the most of every beautiful moment life has to offer.,%201

  1. I saw that A Wrinkle in Time was on there. I was very surprised when I say it on the list. I believe everyone should have the right to read whatever they dang well please and just because you don't agree with it or it makes you uncomfortable doesn't mean everyone thinks those things about that book also.

  2. That's crazy! A Wrinkle in Time is one of my dad's favorite books from his childhood. He still goes on about how great a book it is. ;)

  3. Thank you for the giveaway and a great hop!i LOVE to read and ive always known there was a banned list but ive never really looked at it before. like you i am SHOCKED at most of the books on this list. its kind of crazy!
