Resisting the Hero (Accidently in Love, #3) by Cindi Madsen ~ Review

Source:  Received eBook from the publisher in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Faith Fitzpatrick isn’t looking for a hero. Burned one too many times in the past, she’s now sworn them off completely. And when her brother’s best friend, Connor, convinces him to join the dangerous SWAT team, Faith has never been more anti-hero. What’s wrong with having a safe job? There’s nothing safe about Connor. Confident, sexy, and sporting a six-pack that should be illegal, he’s everything she doesn’t want.

When his best friend’s sister moves to town, local cop Connor Maguire knows he’s in trouble. Faith is feisty, funny, and talks trash like nobody’s business. She’s also his partner’s sister—and so totally off limits. Working on the Fall Festival together, they agree to a truce and become friends. But the more time Connor spends with Faith, the more he’s willing to risk the wrath of her brother. If he could only convince her to take a risk on him, too.

My Thoughts:

4 stars - Resisting this story is futile!

There is nothing I love more in a romance story than two people resisting their chemistry.  That's what this story brings in a big way.  Faith has her reasons for not wanting to date a cop and so over the players, she tries so hard to resist the incredible charm of Conner.  The attraction is immediate but Conner can see why he should not get involved with his partners little sister.  His mind understand that but he can't resist flirting with her and the more time he spends with her, the more he doesn't want to resist at all.

LOVE Conner.  He faced some struggles growing up but they moved him in a good direction.  Strong and confident, he's used to getting the women that catch his eye.  But there is so much more to this player.  He has a reason for not wanting to settle down and he's willing to just keep playing.  The thing is that he's an incredible catch.  Protective, charming, powerful, this guy is even good with kids.  Did I mention he can speak Italian?  Yeah, he's one sexy hunk.  I loved him.

Faith has some issues she hasn't faced.  Running is her normal reaction.  I liked her well enough but I did want to slap her a few times - in a what the heck are you doing girlfriend - kinda way.  It took a lot for her to deal with things.  That makes the story feel real, though.  She didn't just give in but, oh, how I wanted her to hurry the heck up.

I enjoyed seeing characters from the previous two books in this series, though it is NOT necessary to have read them to enjoy this book.  It very much stands alone.  I, also, enjoyed meeting Faith brother and his family.  It was sweet to have a three year do some interrupting.   Hehe.

If you love these bliss books and sweet romance, then this one is such a great choice.

About the author:
Cindi Madsen sits at her computer every chance she gets, plotting revising, and falling in love with her characters. Sometimes it makes her a crazy person. Without it, she’d be even crazier. She has way too many shoes, but can always find a reason to buy a new pretty pair, especially if they’re sparkly, colorful, or super tall. She loves music, dancing, and wishes summer lasted all year long. She lives in Colorado (where summer is most definitely NOT all year long) with her husband and three children. She is the YA author of DEMONS OF THE SUN & ALL THE BROKEN PIECES, and the adult author of FALLING FOR HER FIANCE, ACT LIKE YOU LOVE ME and CINDERELLA SCREWED ME OVER.
