No Attachments by Tiffany King ~ Reiew

Source: Received eBook from author in exchange for a fair and honest review.

** Recommended for ages 17+ due to sexual situations, language and mature subject matter **

Ashton Garrison walked away from a privileged life in order to hide from the one thing she's not willing to face. She knows she left behind a trail of pain, but in the long run, her betrayal will hurt less than the truth. She now has one goal: Live life to the fullest with no regrets and no attachments. She has high hopes that a move to new surroundings will provide the escape she desires, but what Ashton doesn't count on is how fate always seems to find a way to screw up any good plan. Sometimes, when love comes knocking, the pull is too strong not to answer. Suddenly, what she thought she wanted to escape from is what Ashton now wants more than anything.

Nathan Lockton has one mission: find his target and complete the task he was hired to do—no attachments and no emotion necessary. He's done it over and over again. What he thought was a typical lost-and-found job has turned into a life examining moment as Nathan is forced to deal with something he has always ignored--his feelings. Now faced with a decision, Nathan must choose to either follow his heart or complete the job.

Love can come when you least expect it. The question is: If the odds are stacked against you, how far are you willing to go for the one you love?

My Thoughts:

5 stars - Loved this one so much!

I'm a huge Tiffany King fan.  I always love her books but some are better than others.  This one has taken it's rightful place as my very favorite of all her books.

I started this on Mother's Day and only the need to spend time with my family forced me to put it down.  I had read 25% without even noticing.  The rest was quickly devoured the next day.  I think I would have read straight through if it hadn't been for the holiday.

Ashton is hiding.  Leaving her life behind, she's working on her bucket list.  Checking off items quickly as she's not sure how long she has to get through it.  Having a one night stand is about to be fulfilled my the gorgeous Nathan but fate isn't having it.

I loved Ashton.  She makes a questionable choice in hiding but I love her strength.  She wants to live life her way and I get that.  Everyone faces that moment or moments when you wonder why you do what you do.  And question how long you can put off the dreams you have for yourself.  Ashton wants certain experiences and she's working towards making it happen.

Her reactions around Nathan are so funny.  She becomes a klutz and embarrasses herself so many times.  But while there may be a blush, she doesn't take anyone's grief.  She's real.  Love that about her.  Nathan loves her blushes and how she doesn't act all proper.  He's taken by that part of her and can also tell she has secrets.  Wanting to find out those secrets while watching her blush under his skilled comments keeps him hanging around longer than is wise.  His heart is bound to get in trouble.

Love Nathan.  His heart has been broken and he's not making that mistake again.  He has a job to do and that's it.  He's a good guy that keeps his heart carefully under control but when he can't fight the attraction and he lets loose a little then he can't help himself.  His idea of an appetizer had me wishing there was still snow outside so I could cool off.  His efforts at dating was both romantic and funny.  He had me laughing and crying.  He's a keeper for book boyfriends.  Claiming him for sure!

The story itself is heartwarming, which really is a characteristic of a Tiffany King book.  Her stories always turn struggles into strength and her characters always find the good.  That's one of the reasons I love to read her books.  They're real.  They're emotional.  They're heartwarming.

If you love the books that suck you in and keep you there till you're done then this one is for you.  If you like the new adult genre, then this one is for you.  If you like real life issues with an emphasis on the positive, then this one is for you.  If you love Tiffany King books, then this one is for you.

Love it.  Recommend it.

  6. I haven't read anything by Tiffany King yet but this book sounds great. I love characters who are running/hiding from their former lives or something/someone in it. And I do enjoy heroines who are not perfect, who blush, stumble etc.
