All He Ever Needed (Kowalski Family #4) by Shannon Stacey

Source:  Purchased audiobook

He won’t stay put for a woman, and she won’t chase after any man…

Mitch Kowalski lives out of a suitcase—and he likes it that way. Traveling for work has the added bonus of scaring off women who would otherwise try to tie him down. But when he’s called home to help with the family lodge, he’s intrigued by the new girl in town and her insistence that she doesn’t need a man. If there’s one thing Mitch can’t resist, it’s a challenge.

After a nomadic childhood, Paige Sullivan is finally putting down roots. Determined to stand on her own two feet, she lives by the motto “Men are a luxury, not a necessity.” But when Mr. Tall, Dark and Hot pulls up a stool in her diner and offers her six weeks of naughty fun with a built-in expiration date, she’s tempted to indulge.

They’re the perfect match for a no-strings fling. Until they realize their sexy affair has become anything but casual…

 My Thoughts:

4 stars - Real with great characters!

I read this series out of order and didn't much care for the last one I read but I had bought the audio on this one and was in the mood to listen to a book...so.

I'm glad I read this one.  It brought back what I had loved about the first one I read (Yours to Keep, book 3).  I had pretty much decided to not read anymore Kowalski Family books but now I want to read  Ryan and Josh's story.  I got to know those two brothers along with Mitch in this one.  Kinda like Josh's brooding ways and the hope of a second chance for Ryan.

What did I like about this one?  It's a book that's real with a couple of great characters.  I liked Mitch.  He's very male and most women don't hold his interest for long.  When that changes with Paige, he's so adorable.  Yeah, he'd be pissed at me for calling him that.  I so loved the scene where he figured out his feeling.  So funny, completely male and just perfect.

Paige believes that men are a luxury she just doesn't need right now.  She wants to belong in a way her childhood never provided.  She's found that in this small town and she sure doesn't want a man messing that up.  But she's drawn to Mitch.  They both fight it which makes for some sexy tension and good times.

I enjoyed listening to this one.  The narrator added to the story and didn't take away.  High praise from me!

If you like adult contemporary, then this book is a good one.  Don't worry about the rest of the series, start here.

About the author:

Shannon Stacey married her Prince Charming in 1993 and is the proud mother of two incredible sons. She lives in New England, where her two favorite activities are trying to stay warm and writing stories of happily ever after. Her two cats refuse to curl up on her lap and keep it warm while she writes, but her Shih Tzu is never far away.

When she’s not writing, she’s indulging in her other passion—four wheeling! From May to November, the Stacey family spends their weekends on their ATVs, making loads of muddy laundry to keep Shannon busy when she’s not at her computer.
