Val did this challenge in November and since she knows I adore tags, she tagged me! Now I'm finally doin' it, like forever and a half later. YAY!
Credit to the creators of this challenge:
1. An Upcoming release you wish you could get your hands on right now.
2. Favorite series starter.
I had no idea when I picked this book up that I'd end up going down the magnificent rabbit hole that is the Ghost Bird series. I love it so very much, it's my most recent obsession. I'm on the most recent book now, which means I'm just about caught up, which means I'm going to have to waaaaaaaiiiit. Can First Kiss just release, like, now?
3. A book that gave you all the warm fuzzies.
Just THINKING about this book (and Levi...mostly Levi) makes me feel all happy pants. I love it so much!
Significance by Shelly Crane could also fit here. I get the warm fuzzies for that one, too. All the time.
4. A Book that made you ugly cry.
This is one of my favorite books of all time, and the ending tore me UP. Like, serious sobbing, y'all. For at least (AT LEAST) twenty minutes after finishing the book. Ahhhhhh. But I love it so very much and everyone needs to read it. (Have you read it? Trust me when I say YOU NEED TO.)
Don't Die, My Love by Lurlene McDaniel also made me cry so hard (and still does whenever I re-read it), by the way. Not surprising considering it's a Lurlene McDaniel book, though. (But it is so sweet and heartbreaking, definitely an absolute fav.)
5. Bookish hero or heroine you want around to protect you in real life.
My first instinct here was to go with Dimitri Belikov from Vampire Academy, because he's a guardian and all fierce and I KNOW he'd be a great protector. But then I remembered Christophe and was like OMG CHRISTOPHE YES. All day every day. He's be amazing, and I love him so much, so I'd get to have him around. For real, how great would this be??? (The greatest, guys!)
6. A book you intentionally spoiled for yourself.
The day this book came out, I was all over the place looking for spoilers. I HAD TO KNOW who she chose! (Huge thanks to Meredith who ended up finding the answer for me, she's the best.) If she'd chose the other guy, I don't think I'd have kept these books on my TBR. I'm just too devoted to my guy. (Look at me avoiding spoilers...even though the entire world already knows how this one goes.)
7. A book you wish you could make everyone read because you love it so much.
I was going to try to not use the same book twice (hence my urging above to READ THIS BOOK), but then I couldn't decide what to put here because I love lots of books. So I asked my brother what book he thought I wanted everyone to read because I love it so much, and his answer was "The Darkest Minds" (also Obsidian and The Collector), so here we are. HONESTLY THOUGH READ THIS BOOK IT IS SO AMAZING I CAN'T EVEN. *flails* *falls onto floor* *keeps flailing because omg this booooook*
8. A book or series you wish never ended.
I adore this group of characters so freaking much. This trilogy is a big deal to me, and dear goodness I wish it were more than three books. (I'm not including the ghost written ones. I haven't read them and don't really plan to.)
9. A book with an uplifting ending or message.
I don't think I'll ever be able to properly put into words how much this book means to me. It's amazing and beautiful and I just so freaking ADORE the message that everyone deserves and can have a happily ever after if they work hard enough for it. (And so much more, but I can't explain it all. Just read this book. Do it.)
10. A book you wish you could forgot you ever read.
GET AWAY FROM ME. DON'T TALK TO ME. GET OUT OF MY FACE.
(Here's my review if you want to see my full thoughts.)
11. An author whose books always get you out of a slump.
Jennifer L. Armentrout, OF COURSE. She's my favorite. I love her books to the end of the earth. But I've also been so into Kristen Ashley lately (and by lately, I mean for at least the last year, so...) and she's definitely one of my top favorite authors, too. Without a doubt, I can pick up a book by either of these authors and fall in love.
12. A swoon-worthy hero or heroine.
This question so isn't fair. DO YOU EVEN KNOW HOW MANY SWOON-WORTHY HEROES I READ??? There's Daemon Black, Levi, Guy Chambers, Oren Tenning, Liam Stewart, Greyson King... and, of course, Ezra Zeller. So in loooooooove.
13. A book that caused you to stop doing all other things until you finished it.
I spent a good chunk of time (AT LEAST one entire weekend) just wrapped up in this book. I didn't rush through it because I wanted it to last, but I was 100% into THIS. I didn't do loads of other things. I just loved the crap out of this book.
14. A book that was painful to read (for whatever reason) or broke you.
I love this series, it's one of my all-time favorites. This book in particular is beautiful and fantastic, but dear goodness... it HURT so much.
A book that actually BROKE me will be listed in a few, so ya know...
15. A book that had you laughing out loud.
16. A book that made you want to send it (or your eReader) flying.
Telling you exactly WHY would be a spoiler, but if you've read this trilogy, I'm sure you can guess why. I read this book back in 2012 (I think? Maybe it was 2011?) and I am STILL so angry about this. I STILL rant about it. Uggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhh.
17. Bookish world you wish you could visit.
I want to be in this group of friends. From this series and Bloodlines. I want to know Dimitri and Adrian and Eddie and I want an attractive guardian. That'd be so cool.
I want to be in the Strange Angels series, too. That's a groups of friends I want to be in on. OHMYGOSH and the Secret Circle!!! I want to be a member of the Circle!!!
18. A book with a shocking twist or ending.
*coughs*
19. A character death that destroyed you.
THIS BOOK FREAKING BROKE ME. I still can't even say much about it now because I get so upset. Like actual, seriously crying upset. I love Corrado Moretti beyond words.
20. Best series conclusion.
This is my favorite series of all time, so it was a big deal reading this series ender. But Jennifer L. Armentrout did AMAZING. Things were wrapped up well, and there were references to things from earlier books that hit me right in the feels. I loved it so much and could not have asked for a better conclusion to this series that I love.
And that's it! I had so much fun! (Though picking one answer for all of these was not easy...which explains why I didn't for several.)
Since I have no idea who has done this or wants to, I tag anyone who wants to do the tag! It's fun! If you do it, please link me up so I can seeeeeeeee. :)
Very precise breakdown of each book, I read some of them and my favorite is Vampire Academy, not the movie but the book. Rose kept me on my toes😊 Merry Christmas!!!
ReplyDeleteAwesome meme. I'll have to do it! Merry Christmas :)
