When
Liv Bennett said good-bye to her sinkhole of a hometown, she planned to leave
that chapter of her life behind forever. But forever turned out to only be
three years.
After
her addict of a mother up and disappears, Liv returns to what she considers her
own personal hell smack in the middle of nowhere Nevada to take care of her two
younger sisters, and she promptly reinstitutes the golden rule that got her
through her first nineteen years of life without getting knocked up, roughed
up, or messed up: don’t date the local boys and, god forbid, don’t fall in love
with one of them.
It
isn’t long before that golden rule is put to the test.
Will
Goods grew up in the next trailer over, but the wild, careless boy who used to
tear up the town with his three brothers has morphed into someone else so
completely, he’s almost unrecognizable. The quiet, contemplative man who works
on cars every night and takes care of his mentally ill mother every day is
nothing like the local boys Liv grew up avoiding.
But
when Liv considers suspending her golden rule just this once, she finds out
something about Will that will change everything.
Will
Goods isn’t who he used to be—he’s not even the man Liv thinks she’s gotten to
know over the summer. He’s become someone else entirely.
He’s
become . . .
Damaged
Goods.
Why?
He's gorgeous...
I was checking out his back again. That was probably because, as backs went, it was a very nice one. One with so many cuts and grooves a girl wanted to trace each one. (kindle location 408)
He's comfortable and he listens...
A few minutes of quiet passed between us. It wasn't an awkward silence, which was strange. Will was practically a stranger, and sitting next to cute strangers late at night should have made any silence awkward, but for whatever reason, it wasn't. (kindle location 994)

"In case it's isn't obvious, you can talk about whatever happened tonight, if you need to...or if you want to. I'm not one of those guys who doesn't know what to do when a girl starts talking a hundred miles an hour or is choking sobs deep into a meltdown." Will lifted his shoulders and set the bottle on the ground "I'm a pretty decent listener." (kindle location 997)
Sexy...
As I watched those words slip from his mouth, I remembered how his mouth had felt against mine. Remembering that made me glance at his hands, which made me remember how they'd touched me. Remembering the way they'd touched me had me remembering the way his touch had made me feel, and that was all the reminder I needed to remember... (kindle location 1917)

Will grabbed the T-shirt dangling over the truck's side view mirror and slid it on. "Sorry, I'm always half-naked whenever you show up. I do wear clothes. Most of the time." (kindle location 4676)

"I might have had another ulterior motive I can admit only because I made you a solemn vow to be honest." "And what ulterior motive would that be?" Will's other hand came to rest on my stomach, his fingers splayed. The width of his hands made it seem like he could cover and keep safe the very core of me. "So I could touch you." (kindle location 2926)
He's so sweet...
"Thank you so much, Will. Really, you have no idea how much you've just saved me." He held out the keys, and I took them. "I told you if you needed anything, to come see me, didn't I? Those weren't empty words, you know." His smile curved higher. (kindle location 4676)
I adore Will. I adore this book. What do you think? Have a book boyfriend this week? Leave us a comment.
