True (True, #1) by Erin McCarthy

When Rory Macintosh’s roommates find out that their studious and shy friend has never been with a guy, they decide that, as an act of kindness they’ll help her lose her virginity by hiring confident, tattooed bad boy Tyler Mann to do the job…unbeknownst to Rory.

Tyler knows he’s not good enough for Rory. She’s smart, doctor smart, while he’s barely scraping by at his EMT program, hoping to pull his younger brothers out of the hell their druggy mother has left them in. But he can’t resist taking up her roommates on an opportunity to get to know her better. There’s something about her honesty that keeps him coming back when he knows he shouldn’t…

Torn between common sense and desire, the two find themselves caught up in a passionate relationship. But when Tyler’s broken family threatens to destroy his future, and hers, Rory will need to decide whether to cut her ties to his risky world or follow her heart, no matter what the cost…

My Thoughts:

4 stars - Tingle inducing with a side of laughter - totally enjoyable!

I can't seem to get enough of these good girls that make it to college still a virgin.  This idea makes for such a great story and this one is no exception.

Rory is the studious type who hasn't really had time for guy between studying and more studying.  So when the bad boy Tyler Mann becomes interested, it makes for a lot of fun.  I laughed.  I enjoyed.  I was touched.  I cried.  I love that Rory is strong and confident with who she is.  She's good at math and science not guys.  It's cute that she thinks a nerd or loner type may be the one for her only to find out  he is like the worst possible choice.  I guess I loved that she was wrong even though she's so book smart.  What she isn't good at is reading guys.  She misses Tyler's interest.  She doubts he could really care for her yet when things don't add up - her logic bails her out.  Loved that about her.

Tyler is such a great guy.  Those bad boy vibes are really just his rough upbringing.  He's caring for younger brothers and doing way more than a 22 year should have to.  Lady luck keep passing him by - until he finds Rory.  His interest in Rory is not what she thinks but I won't say more.  I love that he's so real.  He tries to do what's right and he's such a protector.  I wasn't surprised when he wanted to protect Rory too even if I wanted to slap him for it.

Together these two are so much fun.  I laughed out loud several times and the passion between them was so yummy.  Tyler is sweet with his patience and kindness.  He knows the score and he's not pushing.  But, oh, does he like to bring the heat.

The story was fast moving and I truly enjoyed it.  At one point, I had the "oh hell no" moment where the author through me for a loop.  But I was very happy with the ending.  Oh and the tats?  Totally LOVED the idea for the tats!

I got the vibe for book 2 and I'm so excited that I have Sweet.  Want to get started right away so I can keep tabs on these two while hearing another great story.

If you love the new adult thing and you love the warm tingles, then this one needs your attention!
