Chosen at Nightfall by C.C. Hunter ~ Review

Kylie Galen's life hasn't been the same since her world was turned upside-down in Born at Midnight, Shadow Falls #1, and now an epic conclusion to her journey—not to mention a tough choice between two guys!—is brewing in Chosen at Nightfall:

When Kylie Galen left Shadow Falls, she thought it was the hardest decision of her life. Heartbroken and separated from everyone she loves, she has to embrace her abilities and what it means to be a chameleon. But as Kylie's journey comes to a close, she must return to the camp that started it all... and she must finally chose between the two boys who love her. The werewolf who broke her heart when he chose his pack over her, and the half-fae who ran from their intense attraction before they ever really had a chance. For Kylie, everything will finally be revealed and nothing will ever be the same.

The last book in this series delivered just as much as the rest.  I think it was my favorite of the series.  I love this group of characters and I'm sure I read the spin-off at some point.  The ending made me happy.  I knew what I wanted as far as the love triangle went and I was happy with the results.  It's a great YA paranormal series that I would recommend to any avid reader.

Buried in the pages if this series are the struggles of teens trying to figure out how to make hard decisions, how to talk to their parents, how to understand their feelings about boys and how to deal with so many issues that make growing up difficult.  I was pleased with the way it was woven into the story and could help anyone understand how hard decisions can be.

I loved Kylie and her struggle to understand how she fits into a supernatural world.  She's a strong character and she wasn't going to just follow the crowd.  She went with her gut a lot of the time and it didn't steer her wrong.  She relied on her friends.  She had a good relationship with her mom.  I just really liked her.

Her best friends were so much fun.  They always bickered yet they were always there for her.  The struggle to decide between Derek and Lucas was never really much of a battle.  I could see where she was headed.  Though I did eventually forgive Derek, I was never on his team.  Lucas also upset me but not near as much.  Kylie knew her heart, though, and she made the right choice.

I love YA paranormal and I'm sorry I waited so long to read this one.  It's the good stuff.  Sometimes, I think I should spend more time catching up on gems like this that I missed along the way instead of trying to read every new one that becomes available.  But alas, as a reader, there will always be more books to read.
