Play (Stage Dive, #2) by Kylie Scott ~ Review

Source: Received book as a gift.

Kylie Scott returns with the highly anticipated follow-up to international bestseller Lick.

Mal Ericson, drummer for the world famous rock band Stage Dive, needs to clean up his image fast—at least for a little while. Having a good girl on his arm should do the job just fine. Mal doesn't plan on this temporary fix becoming permanent, but he didn't count on finding the one right girl.

Anne Rollins never thought she'd ever meet the rock god who plastered her teenage bedroom walls—especially not under these circumstances. Anne has money problems. Big ones. But being paid to play the pretend girlfriend to a wild life-of-the-party drummer couldn't end well. No matter how hot he is. Or could it?

I so loved the first book in this series, Lick, but this one was even better!  How is it better?  It's Mal.  It's all Mal.

Mal is clearly a living breathing guy that just took control of this story.  I can just see him sitting by the author and demanding things go a certain way.  That's how he is.  I adore him.  He reminds me of salted caramel.  He has the sweet side that includes his humor and sexy rock star ways.  He's smooth and has all the right moves.  He's sexy gorgeous and kisses like a dream ruining you for every other guy on the planet.  He's fun to be around and the life of the party.  But he has this salty side too.  He turns sad and you just want to fix it.  And his sad is real.  It's not some brooding thing.  And I so love salted caramel because it's just so real.

As you can tell, Mal is real for me.  But I adore Anne too.  She's down to earth and not letting his star status make her crazy though he claims she has crazy eyes just for him.  Anne has been a fan for years but she doesn't let Mal get away with swooping her off her feet...literally.  She has her own issues from her past but she pushes it away and lives her life for now.  I really liked her.

Of course, there were characters I already knew from book 1.  I was excited to see David and Ev again.  While I know who Jimmy and Ben are, I'm excited to read their stories.  The band is a family and they are there for each other.  It's enjoyable.

Did I mention how sexy Mal is?  Yeah, there are some yummy kissing and hot bed breaking times. Ha.  It's clearly for adults only.

This is the kind of story that you just consume because you don't want to put it down and you have to know what happens for these characters.  I read it in one day.

A salted caramel kinda read and I enjoyed it's smooth and yummy taste!
