All Chained Up by Sophie Jordan ~ Review & Giveaway

ABOUT ALL CHAINED UP:

Some men come with a built-in warning label. Knox Callaghan is one of them. Danger radiates from every lean, muscled inch of him, and his deep blue eyes seem to see right through to Briar Davis’s most secret fantasies. But there’s one major problem: Briar is a nurse volunteering at the local prison, and Knox is an inmate who should be off-limits in every way.

Knox feels it too—a shocking animal magnetism that drives him to risk his own life to protect Briar’s. Paroled at last, he tries to resist her. She’s too innocent, too sweet, and she has no idea what Knox is capable of. But a single touch can lead to a kiss—and a taste . . . until the only crime is denying what feels so right . . .

Review:

Contemporary books just haven't been holding my attention lately.  But I so adore this author and that cover is awesome so I gave it a try.  So glad I did.

This is the kind of book that you sit down to read a little of and end up reading the whole thing!  I thought I'd start it one night and before I even realized the time had gone by, the book was done.  Love those kind of books.

These characters are the reason I was so stuck in this book.  I adore Knox.  He's a hard guy that's been through 8 years of prison life.  The story of what took him there had me seeing red.  He has himself convinced that he's not worth anyone or anything good.  But at his core, he's a protector and his emotions run deep.  When he puts himself on the line to protect Briar, he won my heart.

Briar is a girl that just hasn't been with a guy that does it for her.  Being set-up by her sister, she just wants to live her simple and safe life.  But that didn't stop her from volunteering to help the doctor at the prison.  Sure she was hoping it would benefit her but she did it.  That's not easy duty.  I admired her and I cheered for her.

Together, these two are a match and gasoline.  They both feel it but know that it's not the place for them.  But prison ends for Knox sooner than he expected.  Of course, when he gets out, he's sure he doesn't deserve Briar.  It makes for some interesting resistance.

I enjoyed how this book developed.  It made sense to me.  The progression of their relationship was just right.  And I have to say that Briar's sister's turn around was perfect.

Other characters in the book are just begging for their own book.  Reid is next but I can't wait for North to get a story.

If you like your men sexy, hard and deep down good guys, then Knox...um this book is for you.

ABOUT SOPHIE JORDAN:

Sophie Jordan took her adolescent daydreaming one step further and penned her first historical romance in the back of her high school Spanish class. This passion led her to pursue a degree in English and History.

A brief stint in law school taught her that case law was not nearly as interesting as literature - teaching English seemed the natural recourse. After several years teaching high school students to love Antigone, Sophie resigned with the birth of her first child and decided it was time to pursue the long-held dream of writing.

In less than three years, her first book, Once Upon A Wedding Night, a 2006 Romantic Times Reviewers' Choice Nominee for Best First Historical, hit book shelves. Her second novel, Too Wicked To Tame, released in March 2007 with a bang, landing on the USA Today Bestseller's List.
