Presents from Percy Arrived for Val!

That Greek Heroes book?

It's incredible!!!!

It's BIG and has incredible illustrations!

AND it's AVAILABLE Today!

Description: Who cut off Medusa's head? Who was raised by a she-bear? Who tamed Pegasus? It takes a demigod to know, and Percy Jackson can fill you in on the all the daring deeds of Perseus, Atalanta, Bellerophon, and the rest of the major Greek heroes. Told in the funny, irreverent style readers have come to expect from Percy, ( I've had some bad experiences in my time, but the heroes I'm going to tell you about were the original old school hard luck cases. They boldly screwed up where no one had screwed up before. . .) and enhanced with vibrant artwork by Caldecott Honoree John Rocco, this story collection will become the new must-have classic for Rick Riordan's legions of devoted fans--and for anyone who needs a hero. So get your flaming spear. Put on your lion skin cape. Polish your shield and make sure you've got arrows in your quiver. We're going back about four thousand years to decapitate monsters, save some kingdoms, shoot a few gods in the butt, raid the Underworld, and steal loot from evil people. Then, for dessert, we'll die painful tragic deaths. Ready? Sweet. Let's do this.

  1. I love Greek Mythology, particularly the heroes because they're all so strong and brave in the face of danger, even though there's a 99 percent chance they might die.

  3. I love the way Greek mythology can take my imagination places where anything can happen. Heroes can be anybody and villains are always defeated.

  4. I'm a big Rick Riordan fan (even read his mystery books). When I was little I had a set of books that came with the encyclopedia my parents bought and it was all about mythology and the stories of the Greek and Roman Gods and the Demi Gods (their children).

They were my favorite go to books for enjoyment.

  5. I love one greek hero in particular--Percy. It is all about his snarkiness. I think that the adventures that the heros have are always so interesting. They fight the monsters and save regular people from a world that could be so much worse to live.

  6. I love these stories and can't wait to check this out! I think I love the fact that no one in the Greek mythologies - god, hero, mortal - is perfect. Sometimes that screws things up for them, but sometimes they get through it :)

  7. I have loved Greek mythology since I was a kid. I love the fantasy world it takes me to. Handsome Gods who had affairs with mortals. Cute heroic Demi-Gods. I always loved the magical powers they all had that were semi unique.

  8. Wow, awesome giveaway!

I love that Greek Heroes (in general) are complicated and strange by today's standards.

In the case of Percy, I love his cleverness and charm.

  14. I don't just love Greek mythology, I love mythology. I was a Latin scholar (yeah, pretty useless, I know) and we studied Roman mythology. Like the Greeks, they would come up with these fantastic stories to explain the origins of things. I KNOW this goes against everything in my science background, but I was always enthralled by the stories.

  19. I love that it got my son excited about reading. He gives me daily status updates on his reading progress (how close he is to the end of the book) and pesters me for the next in the series. We have to make him stop reading for things like take a shower, eat dinner, go to bed. Its freaking awesome!!!
