Swoon Thursday ~ 5/7/15

The fabulous girls over at YA Bound created this super HOT meme.  Here's how it works.

From the book you’re currently reading, or one you just finished, tell us what made you SWOON. What got your heart pounding, your skin tingling, and your stomach fluttering.

Shout it out on Twitter with the hashtag #YABound, post it here in the comments, or grab the adorable button above and share it on your blog! I want to know & so do the chicks at YABound!

First person in her family to go to college? CHECK.
Straight A’s? CHECK.
On track to graduate early? CHECK.
Social life? …..yeah, about that….

With just a few weeks until she graduates, Antonella DeLuca’s beginning to worry that maybe she hasn’t had the full college experience. (Okay... Scratch that. She knows she hasn't had the full college experience).

So Nell does what a smart, dedicated girl like herself does best. She makes a "to do" list of normal college activities.

Item #1? Hook up with a jock.

Rusk University wide receiver Mateo Torres practically wrote the playbook for normal college living. When he’s not on the field, he excels at partying, girls, and more partying. As long as he keeps things light and easy, it's impossible to get hurt... again. But something about the quiet, shy, sexy-as-hell Nell gets under his skin, and when he learns about her list, he makes it his mission to help her complete it.

Torres is the definition of confident (And sexy. And wild), and he opens up a side of Nell that she's never known. But as they begin to check off each crazy, exciting, normal item, Nell finds that her frivolous list leads to something more serious than she bargained for. And while Torres is used to taking risks on the field, he has to decide if he's willing to take the chance when it's more than just a game.

Together they will have to decide if what they have is just part of the experiment or a chance at something real.

Swoon...

And this kiss?  There's nothing slow or introductory about it.  His tongue drives into my mouth, punishing and seeking and coaxing all at the same time.  His hands grip the shelves on either side of me, caging me in so he can press his body flush against mine.  I bring my own hands up around his waist to clutch at his back.   He changes the angle of our kiss, somehow pushing even harder, and I dig my fingers into his back to hold on. (kindle location 2057)

Oh, our boy Torres (No. I can't call his that anymore.  He's Mateo, always).  Our boy Mateo is one swoon-worthy guy and I'm loved this one so much.  I think it may be my favorite of the series and that's saying something - since the others have been 5 star reads for me.  Finished it last night and I'm still basking in the glow of a great book.

That's our swoon for this week! What do you think? Do you have a swoon to share? Leave us a comment!

  3. I love the caged in type of swoons! This swoon is such a good one. I haven't read any of Carmack's books in a while! Will have to change that soon.

    Excellent swoon choice!
