So my book boyfriend for the week is

Lucas Campbell

Does being nobody's fool mean that you're nobody's love?

Colleen O'Rourke is in love with love... just not when it comes to herself. Most nights, she can be found behind the bar at the Manningsport, New York, tavern she owns with her twin brother, doling out romantic advice to the lovelorn, mixing martinis and staying more or less happily single. See, ten years ago, Lucas Campbell, her first love, broke her heart... an experience Colleen doesn't want to have again, thanks. Since then, she's been happy with a fling here and there, some elite-level flirting and playing matchmaker to her friends.

But a family emergency has brought Lucas back to town, handsome as ever and still the only man who's ever been able to crack her defenses. Seems like maybe they've got some unfinished business waiting for them—but to find out, Colleen has to let her guard down, or risk losing a second chance with the only man she's ever loved.

Why?

A man of few words, he's all about the action.

The kiss was soft and sure at the same time, and she felt his welcome heart against her cool skin, felt his hand go to the back of her head, his fingers sliding into her hair.  His mouth moved against hers, testing and waiting to see if she'd respond, and she did, hoping she was doing it right, because it sure felt right.  It was all instinct--all those tips and comments and methods she'd given lectures on to her classmates these past five or six years, hell, she had not idea what she was supposed to be doing.  All she knew was that Lucas Campbell was kissing her, and it felt so, so good.

It took her a second to realize he'd stopped, and that his forehead was resting against hers.  Her hands were on his wrists, clinging to him.

"You're with me now," he said softely.  Then he pulled back to look at her.  "Okay?" (Page 73)

He's part Puerto Rican and very yummy.

And the door opened, and bugger it all, there was Lucas Damien Campbell, Prince of Darkness.  Alone.  Black jeans.  Black shirt.  Black hair, black eyes (not in the hockey player way, but in the Heathcliff way).  God, he was beautiful, a thuggish angel, the kind who did God's dirty work.  Beautiful with a side of scary. (Page 117)

He's not really into the arguing thing.

He threw up his hands.  "I don't know whether to strangle you or kiss you."

"Don't you dare kiss me."

He kissed her.

God.

God. It was a prayer, as in God help me, because Coleen's whole body lit up with the flares of light and heat and tiny pinpricks of shock.  Lucas was hot and hard and strong, and she wrapped her arms around him and held him just as hard, her mouth opening under his, and yes, yes, this was what they were meant to do, this elemental, hard, thought-stealing kiss. (Page 126)

There's more reasons, of course.  One is that he's a true saint.  His aunt is the devil incarnate and she makes his teen years a living hell.  Yet he tries to be polite and does chores trying to just get her to not be mean to him.  I wanted to kill her and hug him.  More later with my review.

What do you think of Lucas?  Leave me a comment.
