Celebration with Cindi Madsen!

Welcome to a month long celebration!

What am I celebrating?

This!

And it's gone up since then!

SO, I'm celebrating!

All month I will be posting interview and featuring books from some of my favorite authors!

Of course, there will be a HUGE giveaway to go along with it!
For every author that participates, I will add one of their books to the giveaway.  Every book will have a winner! This will be BIG!

Who do I have today?

Cindi Madsen!

I’m celebrating passing 700,000 page views on Stuck In Books and I’m so happy you’re here with me for that.

Congrats! I’m so excited to help you celebrate!

Hope you don’t mind me being silly with you for a bit.  Gotta have some fun, ya know.  Does it make me strange that I want to celebrate with authors?  It’s a bookish thing.

Not strange at all. I think it’s pretty awesome, actually.

When you want to celebrate something fabulous, what do you do?

Go out to dinner or order a pizza, then buy a pair of shoes. Or buy the shoes, then have dinner. All that matters is the eating & shoe buying happens.

My celebrating beverage is Coke Zero. I know, I’m weird.  What’s your celebrating beverage of choice?

I’m probably a weirdo, too, because I go for Mountain Dew.

I tend to hang out at parks with my one-year-old grandson for celebrations.  Where is your celebration destination of choice?

Usually a restaurant. I hate cooking, and as seen on my twitter feed, I burn food a lot. So it’s easier to go somewhere & let someone else handle the cooking.  If I get real lucky and have a babysitter, I like to go to Carrabba’s with my husband. If we’ve got the kids, it’s usually Texas Roadhouse.

I might get stuck in a book to celebrate.  Who am I kidding; of course that’s how I celebrate.  (Buying a book is the best kind of celebration!) What was the last book you got stuck in?

I’m currently reading Here Without You by Tammara Webber and loving it!

New adult books have become my new love.  Do you have a genre that you prefer to read or write over all others?

I used to be all about the urban fantasy, and if it’s got a lot of romance, it’s still one of my favorites, but lately I’m digging contemporary romance, YA or adult. I love if a book can make me laugh and swoon.

If you had to re-write the three little pigs or the three bears into a new adult book, which would you choose and how would you do it?

Lol! Well…I guess I’d go bears. And it’d be three alpha brothers (possibly in need of a shave & haircut) who lived in the woods, and the heroine would stumble across their house and have to figure out which guy was just right. (Oh jeez, there’s no way not to make that sound dirty, especially when words like too small and too big and just right pop into my head.)

You’re building the perfect ice cream sundae to share with one character from one of your books.  What’s on the sundae and who are you sharing it with? Yeah – you need to explain your choice.

Rocky road ice cream with caramel and Oreo bits and nuts sprinkled on it.  I’m gonna go with Wes, from Falling for Her Fiancé.  He’s like a lot of the guy friends I’ve had and I’d really like a helicopter tour of Charlotte. So we’d take a helicopter ride, then go for ice cream.

You have woke up in the middle of one of your books but things aren’t unfolding as you thought.  Which character has sabotaged the story and how will you convince them to fix it?

As far as sabotaging goes, that award goes to Connor, the love interest in Resisting the Hero (the 3rd book in the Accidentally in Love series) The words that would pop out of this guy’s mouth made me gasp and giggle and take the story in ways I didn’t know it’d go. While working on it, I actually called my mom and told her she should never read it. She asked why and I said, “Well, my hero keeps saying dirty things and I can’t get him to stop.” With him, I don’t think there’s much convincing. I just have to hold on and hope he knows what he’s doing. Lol.

You know my good news, what’s yours?  (What’s the new book/project you got going or any other thing you’d like to share with peeps).

Cinderella Screwed Me Over comes out in October and on the YA side of things, I’ll be releasing Rift, the 2nd book in the Cipher series soon.

Thanks, Valerie! That was a blast!

NOW AVAILABLE

Rift (Cipher, #2) by Cindi Madsen

Summer Davis is a Cipher, a person chosen to help people resolve problems with their loved ones before they die. She’s just gotten her second job when weirder-than-usual things start happening. There seems to be a rift between her and the afterlife, and she’s seeing things she shouldn’t, including people who have already passed on. As she struggles to help her new assignment, Liam, make amends with his incarcerated father, she finds it hard to balance being a high school student, Cipher, and girlfriend.

Troy’s been nothing but supportive, but Summer can see her secret weighs on him, and she worries the more she tells him, the sooner he’ll decide he can’t deal with her freaky life. But when a murderer is thrown into the mix, and the girl he killed keeps asking Summer for help, she’ll risk everything to make sure the guy gets what he deserves.
