Jordyn and the Caverns of Gloom (A Daemon Hunter, #2) by Tiffany King ~ Dream Cast, Review & GIveaway

Dream Cast for Jordyn and the Caverns of Gloom
By Tiffany King

I always love to put together a dream cast for a movie version of one of my books. I recently had the chance to speak with Isaac Marion, the author of Warm Bodies. He commented about what a surreal experience it was to watch characters he created come to life while they were filming the movie. Obviously, this dream cast below for Jordyn and the Caverns of Gloom is merely a fantasy, but maybe one day I can experience the same feeling that Isaac did.

Jordyn- Ashely Benson

You may recognize Ashley most recently from the movie Spring Breakers. She also plays the role of Hanna Marin in the TV show Pretty Little Liars. I think she is extremely cute and has the perfect face to play Jordyn.

Emrys- Freddie Stroma

He played Cormac McLaggen in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Parts 1 and 2, and Luke in the movie Pitch Perfect. Three of my favorite movies. Plus, who wouldn't want to eat Dove Chocolates off those abs.

Haniel- Chris Hemsworth

There is simply no one else suitable to play Haniel. It's almost as if Chris playing this role is Meant to Be. (All pun intended)

Krista- Allison Williams

Allison is mostly an unknown actress, but currently plays the role of Marnie Michaels on the HBO TV show, Girls. She has the right combination of subtle looks and sophistication to play Krista.

Mark- Penn Badgley

Mark played bit roles in a couple of movies that you probably wouldn’t remember him in, but what got him the role of Mark in my dream cast was his portrayal of Dan Humphrey in the TV show Gossip Girl.

Boon- Noah Lomax

Noah is just getting started as an actor. He has been in a couple of movies, most notably, Safe Haven and Playing for Keeps, but it's the face that got him the role of Boon. I mean look at the freckles, please.

Kale- Giovanni Ribisi

Yes, you recognize Giovanni. He's been in a ton of movies. Great actor. It was his role in the movie Contraband with Mark Wahlberg that made me think he would be perfect for the sleazy Kale.

Gaab- Jeremy Irons

I love the deep voice and accent. He's played the role of a villain so many times, he could do it in his sleep.

Due - Rosaria Dawson
What can I say? I think Rosario is absolutely gorgeous. I loved her in the movie Death Proof. If you haven’t seen it, check it out. Perfect for Due.

Synopsis:

Lies.
My so-called family lied.
My friends lied.
The only guy I ever liked lied.
My mentor, the one I was supposed to trust lied.

My entire existence is built on lies and yet now they want my help. Scratch that, now
they need my help. I'll play the good soldier, but I am no longer the person I was before. This time it will be on my terms. I will trust no one.

I am a weapon. I am Jordyn.

My Thoughts:

3 stars - A great YA paranormal with lots of snark!

This book had most of the things I loved about book one.  I loved Jordyn's snark.  That girl can talk some snark and quite the badass.  She's a fighting machine but it was nice to see her work for it a bit more in this book.  She was a bit pouty at the beginning.  I get why, but I will admit to getting tired of it before it went away.  I did love her again about half way through.

I loved Emrys as much as last time.  His motives were called into question but I believed in him.  I love that we spent some time in his head.  I will admit that once I got a taste of that, I really wanted more.  I loved their relationship and can't wait to see where things go in the next book with them.

I liked the new character Boon.  He was fun and I'm hoping we see more of him in the next book.

The story was fast pasted and I enjoyed it.  I read it over two nights.  Could have read it straight through but that pesky job got in the way.  The ending left us worried for what will happen in book 3.

While I didn't enjoy it as much as the first book, it's still a great read.  This story is very much YA paranormal.  It has a "cute" feel to it that might even make it younger YA.  If YA paranormal is your thing, then make sure you give this series a look.
